Indians lose despite valiant last-minute effort

When Donegal stole the ball on their own S yard line,
cheerleader Jackie Frev became airborne.
Ephrata defeated Donegal
20-14 last Saturday in
Mount Joy.
The Mounts were ahead
20-0 until the last 4 minutes
of the game. Donegal
passed its way to a
touchdown with 3:46 left on
the clock when Bradley hit
Emenheiser from 13 yards
out.
Gainer scored the second
Indian TD with seconds
remaining on the clock.
An offside kickoff almost
worked for Donegal when
the football took a wicked
bounce and eluded the first
Mount who tried to field it.
Ephrata managed to retain
possesion of the football,
and the clock ran out on the
Indians.
‘C’ team wins; ‘A,’ ‘B’ teams lose

On Saturday, the 8th, the
Donegal Braves midget foot-
ball teams took part in the
Dallastown Bowl and came
away with one victory and
two losses.
The ‘““B’’ team fell victim
to the York Boys Club team
by a 32-6 score. The boys
were led this year by Todd
Butz, Ron Kennedy, Duane
Musser, and Darin Kolp in
the backfield. The offensive
and defensive units included
Charles Shirk, Lee Bowles,
Mike McConnell, Scott Sny-
der, Scott Hoover, and Tom
Burger, along with Kerry
Neiss, Bill Dishart, Pat
Flanagan, Mike Rapp, Steve
Shireman, Bob Flanagan,
Rodney Fellenbaum, Rick
Ober, and Randy McBride.
Others were Jim Perry,
George Armold, Leroy Claar
Daniel LaughmanPat-Halt- -« short.
erman, Rick Longenecker,
and Toney Wohlfiel. Cheer-
learders were Paula Butz,
Pam Sheetz, Cindy Brom-
mer, Kim Perry, Mindy
Newlin, Terry Meszaros,
Wendy Germer, and Beth
Moran.
The *‘C”’ team recorded a
12-0 victory over the Dallas-
town hosts on the strength
of two Brian Carbaugh runs
of 15 and 41 yards. The
SUPER C team ended with
an outstanding 10-1-1 record
rand a divisional title. Their
victory today earned them a
fine trophy which was
presented to Don Armold,
Head Coach, immediately
following the game. Don
and his staff of Ron Morris,
Ron Kennedy, and ‘Bump-
er’ Yohe are to be congratu-
lated for a job well done.
The ‘A’ team lost a
tough 18-12 tilt when a
frantic 4th period rally fell
Steve Butz, Casey
Krady, Leonard Mummau,
Frank Brommer, Steve Neal
and Steve Meszaros led the
offensive backfield this year
while Jeff Kauffman, Craig
Lehman, John Haugh, Jeff
Duke, Greg Laughlin, Cory
Heisey, John Longenecker,
and Tony Mann anchored
the line, along with Phil
Spickler, Phil Landis, Doug
Benard, Richard Sheetz,
Rick Breneman, Jim Binkle,
and Scott Bricker. Cheer-
leaders were Jaylee Ken-
nedy, Deb Torris, Lori
Thomas, Georgiann Wester-
man, Roxanne Shank, Robin
Snyder, Terry Berg, and
Cindy Hagie.
The final event for the
season will be the annual
banquet to be held on the
19th at Hostetter’'s. Your
