Parents’ Nite tomorrow at Beahm The W. I. Beahm Junior High School staff will have its annual Parents’ Night on Thursday evening, Novem- ber 13, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Parents will meet in the auditorium at 7:00 p.m. After receiving some gener- al infognation they will follow their child's daily schedule for Thursday. The school staff is hoping that many parents will be able to attend this program so that satisfactory progress of the seventh and eighth grade students can be realized. Sauter to explain new report cards Mr. John Sauter, Director of Elementary Education for the Donegal School District, will discuss the new report card—grading system at the monthly meeting of the Parents and Teachers in Partnership of Maytown School. The meeting will be held at the Maytown School at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, No- vember 13th. ‘Earth Day’ celebrated at Mount Joy Vo-Tech by Ted Shellenberger Vica, a club organization from Mount Joy Vo-tech, sponsored an ‘‘Earth Day” at Mount Joy. On Wednes- day, Nov. 5, students, armed with rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows, went to Mount Joy Lincoln Ceme- tary and Mount Joy Cove to clean up these areas. It was a hard dav of work but everybody enjoyed pitching in to keep these areas clean for the residents of Mount Joy. It was a worthwhile project and everybody was proud of what they had accomplished at these areas, MJT people are concerned about sewev This Monday a budget was proposed to the boro council of Mount Joy that would accomplish the un- usual feat of increasing expenditures 4 per cent - while at the same time reducing taxes by 1 mill. An additional budget meeting is scheduled for Novedmber 25. Ken Depoe reported to the Council the opposition of neighboring residents to a proposed shopping center near the Crossroads Church. The names of Paris Sweigart, Jerry Sheetz, and David Deck have been proposed as members of the Mount Joy Authority. Spending up, taxes down! Concerned Citizens of Mount Joy Township have organized in opposition to the $4.8 million dollar sewage system being pro- posed for the area. Two meetings of the new group have been held, a third is planned for Nov. 18 at the E-town H.S. The group does not think the sewer will be useful.
