Donegal vs. Lancaster
The Donegal soccermen
traveled to Lancaster and
met the Red Tornado on a
wind-swept rainy day. .The
Indians started off rapidly
scoring two goals in the first
period. Jay Long scored the
last goal of his high school
soccer career. Kris McCue
scored his 14th goal in
league play and the Indian
backs applied the pressure.
However, the Red Tornado
were not to be denied and
came back strong. By the
end of the first half they
knotted the score at two al!
In the second half they
continued their scoring ways
and by the end of the game
walked away with a 6-2
victory.
Indians vs. Black Knights
The Indians played
Hempfield for the Indians’
final soccer game of the
season. A victory for the
Black Knights would assure
them of the league’s champ-
ionship. After a scoreless
first period, the Knights
scored on a penalty kick.
They added another score
and led 2-0 at halftime. In
the third quarter, the
Knights duplicated their
first half effort, scoring on a
penalty shot and scoring
from the field. In the final
quarter, the Indians re-
bounded. Bob Barto scored
on a penalty shot for the last
goal of his high school
soccer career. The final
score was Hempfield 4 and
Donegal 1.

Maytown second graders to appear on T.V.
by Deb Evans
This Saturday, November
1 at 7:30 a.m., second
graders from Maytown
Elementary School will be
th stars on ‘‘Sunshine
Corners,”’ a weekly TV show
on Channel 8, WGAL-TV.
conducted by Marijane
Landis.
Appearance on Sun-shine
Corners’’ is the culmination
of a study the class has been
making on television.
The study was undertaken
because television has so
much influence on children.
Its purpose was to make
children aware of how
important TV can be in
educaion as well as in
journalism and entertain-
ment.
The teachers of the
second graders, Mrs. Joyce
Evans and Miss Donna
Nagle, hope that their pupils
will be able to evaluate what
they see on television.
