Dr. Nancy Tischler, Pro-
fessor of English at Penn
State Capitol Campus, Mid-

two sons, Eric 11 and Grant
7, was guest speaker for the
Mount Joy Business and
Professional Women’s Club
on Sunday morning at the
Mount Joy Restaurant.
Tne event marked the
local group’s celebration of
National Business and Pro-
fessional Women’s Week,
October 19-25. Dr. Tischler
spoke on ‘‘Biblical Business
Women’’, a subject on
which she is writing a book.
The speaker read about the
creation of woman from
Genesis, explaining that the
word‘‘man’’ as used generi-
cally in the Bible, refers, of
course, to humanity, both
men and women. Woman is
the comple ment of man, Dr.
Tischler reminded her aud-
ience.
Women have always been
leaders, content to be
without being recognized as
leaders. Miriam, Mary, and
Martha were all leaders of
their day. Today women,
more than ever, are free to
fulfill all their talents and
needs.
Members of the Public
Relations Committee ar-
ranged the program. Mrs.
Ben Horst Jr., chairman of
the committee, introduced
the speaker. Members of
the committee include Mrs.
William Barto, Mrs. Leslie
Blake, Mrs. Richard Bro-
mer, Miss Elsie Lefever,
Mrs. Loren Rahe and Mrs.
Roscoe Thome.
Mrs. Horst offered the
Invocation, and Mrs. Lester
Koder read the Scripture
lesson. A welcome was
extended be the president,
Mrs. John Fry.
Each member of the club
will wear a gold “mum” in
recognition of National Busi-
ness and Professional Wo-
men’s Week.

Bulletin error
Last week, the Susque-
—hanna Bulletin inaccurately
reported the the Mount Joy
Borough Council was consi-
dering selling the publicly
owned Graybill House to the
Graybill family.
The Council has never
considered selling the
house. However, Council
will consider a motion to
lease the house to the
Graybills on a long term
basis.
The motion was referred
to the public works commit-
tee.
