Braves ‘A’ & ‘C’ teams win

On Sunday, October 12,
when the Donegal Braves
traveled to Landisville to
tangle with the Black
Knights, the ““B’’ team led
off by dropping a tough 8-6
decision. Todd Butz opened
the scoring with a yard
plunge for a 6-0 lead, but
Hempfield quickly retaliat-
ed, and a 2-point conversion
put them in front to stay at
8-6; the second half turned
into a defensive struggle,
although the Braves threat-
ened twice in the last
quarter but couldn’t score.
Butz, Darin Kolp, Duane
Musser and Ron Kennedy
sparked what offense there
was. Kolp intercepted a
pass and blocked a punt to
lead the defense as well.
Mike Rapp also recovered a
fumble, and Bill Dishart,
Jim Perry and Rodney
Fellenbaum added their heft
as the Braves out-played
their opponents, but lost the
game.
The injury-plagued ‘‘A’’
team, with 6 players in
casts, really rose to the top
and scored a thrilling
come-from-behind 14-6 vic-
tory to keep their title hopes
alive. After Hempfield took
a 6-0 half-time lead the
Braves tied the score late in
the third quarter on a Steve

mau pass. After Steve Butz
recovered a fumble on his
own 30 yard line, the Braves
marched 70 yards and
scored when Jeff Kauffman

Senior Citizen’s Nutrition
Program, coordinated by the
Lancaster County Office of
Aging and the Community
Action Program, is expand-
ing its activities to serve the
Senior Citizens of the Mount
Joy area.
The program is designed
to provide inexpensive, nu-
tritionally sound meals to
older people, to provide a
foundation for better health,
and bring together those
who live alone. The meal
meets one-third the daily
nutritional requirements for
adults.
The Mount Joy Center,
located at the Schock Pres-
byterian Home, will have
the grand opening Monday,
October 20, 1975 at 11:00
A.M., and will be known as
the Schock Senior Center, 37
East Main Street, Mount
Joy, PA.
On Tuesday, Ocotober
21st in addition to the hot
lunch, regular social activi-
ties and programs will
begin. Programs are
cost or obligation.
