Mr. and Mrs. Snyder have three children. He graduated from West Vir- ginia Wesleyan College and has a graduate degree from Penn State University. In addition, he attended Tem- ple University, Sir George Williams University, Wes- tern Theological Seminary and School of Conducting, Pittsburg Symphony Or- chestra. Previously Mr. Snyder was employed at: the Elizabethtown Crippled Children’s Hospital; Eliza- bethtown College; the Mar- tha Lloyd School for Retard- ed Girls, in Troy, Pa., as Superintendent; the Student Activities and Recreation at Elwyn Institute, Delaware County as a director; a New Jersey YMCA as a director. In addition, Mr. Snyder was founder and builder of The Old Forge School for the Handicapped, Delaware County; a charter member of the Pennsylvania Thera- peutic Recreation Society; a board member of the Penn- sylvania Recreation and Parks Society; and a social worker for Lancaster Coun- ty. He was elected to Who's Who in the East. Some of Mr. Snyder’s hobbies include photo- graphy, gardening, art, music, camping, traveling, and community activities. Further, Mr. Snyder is the Lay Leader and Lay Speaker at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Eliza- bethtown. He is secretary of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club. Mr. Harold L. Myers, Lay Leader of the Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, will assist in the service. Rev. Woodrow W. Kern is the minister. Members and friends of the church and community are cordially invited to be present at the service. Cub Scouts by Robert W. Mark Mount Joy Cub Scouts Pack 136 took a tour of Mount Joy Fire Co. No. 1. Attending were Thomas Waltz, David Zuschlag, Wayne Bucter, Todd New- comer, Randy Fletcher, Eddie Geib, Kevin Herr; Raymond Smith, Michael Groff, Mark Wagner, Rick Hallgren, Andrew Wagner, Steven Weatherbee, Barry Helsher, Harold Carbaugh, and Shawn Maxwell. Leaders were Robert W. Mark (cubmaster), John Auker, Carolyn Waltz, Edna Wolf. Guides were Fire Chief Frank Good and Gary Maxwell. After the tour the boys received Firemen Hats and Wallets. Hess, Manheim, Pa., will be the guest minister in the Florin Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, in special services the week of October 19-26. Mr. Hess, a native and life-long resident of Lancas- ter County, is well known as a popular preacher and as a successful businessman. Besides being an outstand- ing minister and leader in the Church of the Brethren, he operates thriving grocery store and a busy insurance agency. In his preaching, his sermons are Bible-cen- tered and down-to-earth. The general theme of the week is ‘‘ Spiritual Renewal’ and the sermons will include such subjects as: ‘“‘The Value of the Soul’’, *‘Is Your God Able?’’, ‘“The Word Became Flesh’, ‘‘“The Mir- acle of Grace’’, and ‘‘What is the Kingdom of God?”’. On Sunday Evening, Oc- tober 19, the choirs and choral - groups from the Chiques Church of the Brethren will present a special program to start off the week. There will be other special music from neighboring churches on each of the following eve- nings as well. The general public is invited to share in this spiritual renewal experience at the Florin Church. All evening services begin at 7:30 P.M.
