September 24, 1975 Joseph Meszaros, Melody Mumma are first Boy and Girl of the Month at Donegal H.S. Joseph Meszaros Joseph Meszaros, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mes- zaros, 39 Walnut St., Marietta, is the first Boy of the Month this year at Donegal High School. Joe has been president of the class of 76 for the past three years. Members of the class say he is ‘‘really good at organizing things.” An outstanding scholar, Joe has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past two years. He plans to major in mathemat- ical computer science at Lock Haven College next year. Also an athlete, Joe is on the soccer, wrestling, and track teams at Donegal. As a freshman and sophomore he played football. In the band he plays the trumpet. Other school agtivities are: fly-tying, chess, and the school newspaper. Outside of school he is a Boy Scout at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marietta, a Junior Achiever, and participated in the Keystone Boystate. He has been a dishwasher at Mr. Lacy’s Lounge in Marietta and is presently a cook at the Central Hotel in Mount Joy. Melody Mumma, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Adin Mumma, 744 W. Melody has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past two years, is president of the Booster Club, was editor last year of the school literary magazine, and a member of the newspaper staff. For the past two years she has been an active member of the Dramatics Club. She plays flute and is treasurer of the high school band. She has been in Junior Achievement since her sophomore year and plans to major in Business Admini- stration in college next year. In addition, Melody has been a member of the track team, Future Teachers Club, Club 21, Sophomore Class executive committee, and the chorus... In her sophomore year she won an honor certificate in the National Educational Development Test of Achievement. In her spare time she has worked as an aide in a local nursing home.
