Mrs. Gingrich heads Conoy Bicentennial
Mrs. Harrison Gingrich,
Bainbridge, has been elect-
ed president of the Conoy
Township Bicentennial
Committee.
Others elected to fill
official positions were: Mrs.
Thomas Campbell as secre-
tary, and Harrison Gingrich
as treasurer.
The committe will meet
on the first Thursday of each
month at St. Luke’s Luther-
an Church in Bainbridge.
The next meeting will be on
September 18 at 7:30 to hear
and discuss the findings of
a special committee to select
an official township bicen-
tennial design. The mem-
bers of the committee are
Clement Squires, Richard
Brooks and William
Rhoades.
Teacher certification courses at Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, PA.--
Three courses necessary for
teacher certification will be
offered for the first time in
the evening during the Fall
term at Penn State-Capitol
Campus.
According to Dr. Ka
Starkey, assistant professo
of educational psychology,
the evening classes are
designed for the working
person or housewife who
can attend only after the
work day.

| three volunteers were given
. special recognition at the
i Elizabethtown Hospital for
Children and Youth.
Receiving singular ac-
knowledgement were Carrie
Ney of Mount Joy and Stella
Rhoads, Hershey. Each has
contributed over 2,000 hours
of time, helping and work-
ing with the patients at the
Hospital. Mrs. Ney regular-
ly assists in the younger
boys playroom, and Mrs.
Rhoads works in the out-
patient clinic.
Other volunteers to whom
gratitude was expressed are
Elizabethtown residents,
Connie Brinton, 600 hours;
| Mary Rhyne, 300 hours and
Martha and Mary Saunder-
son, each, 200 hours.
Debora Cobaugh, Bain-
bridge, and Kathy Loge-
man, Wrightsville, also
have given 200 hours of time
and energy to hospital work.

ward of S50 hours of
volunteer service were Ca-
