Four of the 14 contestants in this year’s Jr. Miss Pageant are Donegal High School girls. Melody Mumma, Kathy Jones, Claudia Brandt and Natalie Zuch will compete for the County title next Saturday, Sept. 20, at Hempfield High School. Students can buy tickets at the door for $1. Adult admission is $2.50. The Junior Miss Pageant stresses poise and talent rather than beauty. There is an evening gown competi- tion, but no bathing suit competition. According to Melody Mumma, ‘It’s mainly to see what kind of person you are, and if you're not a fake.** All contestants are high school seniors, who signed up in their junior year. Claudia Brandt Claudia Brandt wrote an original monologue for the talent contest. She will portray Betsy Ross, making a bicentennial appearance in 1976. Claudia will be the Donegal Indian at the Homecoming Game this fall. She would like to study to be a medical secretary at Brandywine College. Last summer, she and Melody aunt and uncle . Mumma spent three weeks in Germany, visiting Claudia’s Melody Mumma Melody Mumma will perform a flute solo, ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ in the talent competition this Saturday.
