of Bainbridge Fire Co. festival
Diane Lokey, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John L.
Lokey, Bainbridge, was
crowned Queen of the
Festival last Saturday night
at a benefit sponsored by
the Ladies Auxiliary to the
Bainbridge Fire Co.
Michele Rutherford was
runner-up.
Other contestants were
Tammy Minnich and Dawn
Nauman. Votes were solicit-
ed in cooperation with
merchants at 1 cent each.
A total of $573.13 was
raised in the benefit.
Mrs. James Smith, and
Mrs. William Smith were
advisors for the contest.
Members of the Ladies
Auxiliary to the Bainbridge
Fire Company presented a
$300 check to the President
of the Fire Company,
William Mindorf, and to
Harry Zink, chairman of the
Ambulance Committee for
equipment for the recently
purchased ambulance. Mrs.
Alice. Nauss, president of .
the Auxiliary and Mrs.
William Smith, chairperson
of the fund raising project
made the presentation.
A flood at Beahm Jr. High
There was a minor flood
in the basement of Beahm
Junior High School in
Mount Joy, Friday, shortly
after noon.
About an inch of water
covered the lowest part of
the hall floors.
Plumbers shut off the main
water supply, then opened
the valves to sub-systems
until the exact location of

The Bainbridge-Maytown
Rotary will hold an auction
of new and used items at the
Bainbridge Fire House,
Saturday, Sept. 20, at 12:30
p.m.
Proceeds will be used to
buy playground equipment

its first meeting for 1975-76,
Monday, Sept. 22, at 7:30
P.M. at the school.
Parents should report to
the all-purpose room; school
age children to the L.G.IL;
and pre-schoolers to the
library for babysitting.

cuss some of the changes
(new math programs, new
report cards) for this year.
Room visitation will follow
the meeting.
Mt. Joy plans
water system
additions
Butcher and Singer, in-
vestment bankers, reported
last week to the Mount Joy
Boro Authority on plans for
improving and adding to the
boro water system.
It is planned to issue
bonds for the improvements
next May. Work is tenta-
tively scheduled to begin
next June.
No action was taken on a
proposal to erect a stand-
pipe in Rapho Township.
AMP, Inc. requested that
the water main on South
Jacob Street be enlarged.
The authority is requesting
that their engineer investi-
gate the feasibility of a 12
inch pipe there, feeling that
a larger pipe will eventually
be necessary for future
residential development.
AMP and the boro would
share costs.
A request from Huth
Engineers asking for stand-
by water service for Rheems
was not granted at this time.
The authority is providing
new water sites, but wishes
to insure their adequacy for
Mount Joy before promising
water to adjacent areas.
The East Donegal Sewer
Authority will be informed
of Mount Joy’s ability to
handle sewage from Done-
gal High School as well as
from Donegal Heights.
The East Donegal Autho-
rity will be responsible for
building and maintaining
the lines.
