Elizabethtown festival planned
The Elizabethtown Jay-
cees will be holding their
annual community Festival
September 17 through 20,
Gary Myer and Joe Maher,
Festival co-chairman, an-
nounce.
This year’s Festival, a-
gain featuring the Market
Place Fair, will be held at
the old Kiwanis farm-fair-
grounds, now part of the
Elizabethtown College cam-
pus.
The categories for the
Market Place Fair are taken
from the official Pennsyl-
vania State Farm Fair Book
(with the department num-
bers corresponding to those
in that source).
They are:dept. 3—grains
and vegetables, dept. 4—
fruits, dept. S—home and
dairy products, dept. 7—
group exhibits, dept. 9—
domestic and fine arts, dept.
10—youth exhibits.
Exhibits will be received
Monday and Tuesday, Sep-
tember 15 and 16, from noon
till 9 p.m. at the west end of
the exhibit building on the
Festival grounds on Kiwanis
Blvd. off College Avenue.
Exhibitors should take
note, however, that perish-
able items will be accepted
only between 6 and 9 p.m.
on Tuesday.
Judging will ~ be held
Wednesday, September 17,
and the exhibits will be
opened to the public at
6p.m. that evening, when
the Festival begins.
Cash premiums will be
awarded for the winning

in Fallstom, Maryland, fol-
lowing a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Herchelroth was 75.
She resided at 520 E.
Market St., Marietta and
was the wife of John S.
Herchelroth.
She was born in Milton
Grove, the daughter of the
late David and Clara Leh-
man Greiner and was a
minister of the Holiness
Christian Mission in Mari-
etta.
She is survived by her
husband, daughters Evelyn,
wife of Charles Emanuel,
New York, N..Y. Mary, wife
of Richard Barninger of
Street, Md.; Helen, wife of .
James Covington, Hopkins,
S.C.; and Shirley Wattier,
