Bainbridge gets new ambulance
Bainbridge Fire Company
has a new 1975 Dodge
Maxivan Ambulance, pur-
chased for $15,000 from
Schumacher Emergency E-
quipment, Lititz. It is fully
equipped and can carry two
patients.
It will be manned by
Emergency Medical Techni-
cians: Joe Lindsey, Harry
Zink, and Sam Zink, and by
firemen certified by Nation-
al Red Cross: Marty Camp,
Jr., Earl Fuhrman, John
Edye, Dennis Ginder, lke
Hoffines, and Dale Stoner.
The ambulance service
has changed from relying on
telephone dispatches to
monitor/siren dispatch ser-
vice. When calling the
ambulance, people should
now dial 653-2001.
Leisure Club holds corn roast

The Mount Joy Leisure
Club held a meeting August
11 in the Florin Fire Hall.
After the invocation by
Marlin Kaylor, 114 mem-
bers enjoyed a corn roast
and barecue with plenty of
cake for dessert. It was
originally planed to be held
outside but due to the heat
and threatening weather, it
was held inside the fire hall.
After the dinner, Presi-
dent Joe Shaeffer opened
the business meeting with
the pledge of allegiance to
the flag, followed by the
secretary’s report by Nedra
Brandt and the treasurer’s
report by Kathryn Zink. Mrs

Hilda Weidler of the Sun-
shine Committee reported
13 cards sent to the shut-ins.
Bertha Foreman of the
Entertainment Committee
stated the September meet-
ing would be a box lunch.
A number of the members
had birthdays and one
couple an anniversary, so
birthday and anniversary
songs were sung to these
members. Two new mem-
bers were admitted. They
were Mrs. Frances Little
and Agnes Weaver, both
being welcomed into the
club.
President Joe spoke about
the bus trip to Wheatland
and to WGAL—TV. Wed-

report to the rear of the St.
Marks United Methodist
Church at 12 noon. After the
meeting adjourned a num-
ber of the members played
bingo.
The next meeting will be
held in the Florin Fire Hall,
Monday September 8, will
be a box lunch and begin at
12 noon. The speaker for
this meeting will be Mr.
Lester Hostetter, Trust Of-
ficer of the Union National
Bank, and his subject will be
Wills and Estates.

District Govenor Paul
Dunkelburger, who is Dis-
trict Govenor of 38 Rotary
clubs in District 739, recent-
ly made his official visit to
the Mount Joy Rotary Club.
Prior to the noon meeting,
Govenor Paul met with
President Carl Hallgren and
Treasurer Joe Shaeffer, and
discussed future plans for
the club and answered
questions and gave helpful
hints on projects for the
club.
At the noon meeting
Govenor Paul was the
speaker. He stressed partic-
ipation by all members in
activities of the Mount Joy
club. Although the club has
been active, it cannot hope
to survive on past laurals.
Govenor Paul made the
statement, ‘‘Rotary is in
Your Hands’, saying that it
is up to Rotarians to be of
service and further the
ideals of Rotary
community.

Gov. Dunkelburger at M., Rotary
Following the noon meet-
ing a Club Assemble was
held. At that time commit-
tee chairmen presented to
Govenor Paul their plans for
the coming year, giving him
an overall picture of what is
being planned by the Mont
Joy Rotary Club.
District Govenor Paul
Dunkelberger has been a
Rotarian since 1942 and is a
member of the Lebanon
Rotary Club. He has served
as president of the club, and
served on many major
committees, district-wide.
Govenor Paul is the district
superintendent of Lebanon
schools, holding two de-
grees from Penn State and
one degree from Temple
University. He is active in
many professional, civic and
community organizations.
He has visited 17 countries,
including four located be-
hind the iron curtain,
‘traveling as a tourist and a
professional educator.
The District Governor is
the regional administrative
