Did you hear
Stacey Lynn Germer, who
will be a first grader at the
Seiler School in a few weeks,
has been a famous person
for a long time without
even knowing it.
Recently the Germer fam-
ily traveled to Gettysburg
where they picked up a
Fantasyland brochure and
guess who is pictured on the
cover! Yup, it’s Stacey and
Elizabethtown friends Jenny
Garber and Missy Harple,
posing amid posies with a
giant Panda.
Stacey’s parents, John
and Jean Germer, Mount
Joy, think the photo was
probably taken during a visit
to Fantasyland last year.
Scouts get Bicen.
This seal is the emblem of
the Lancaster-Lebanon
Council, Boy Scouts of
America for local Scout
Bicentennial events. The
weathervane symbolizes the
geographic arrangement of
the several Scout Districts,
and is topped with a
distelfink bird which is a
Council motif. The central
hex sign is derived from an
early Pennsylvania German
Did you hear
A group of Maytown
youngsters recently held a
back-yard carnival for the
benefit of Muscular Dystro-
phy and earned $3& for the
fund.
The carnival (magic show,
bean bag toss, fortune
teller, food stand and much
more) was the result of the
work of Billy Weaver,
Coleen Barr, Tony Houseal,
Michael Ferguson, Billy
Kanoff and Joey Good.
The customers were plen-
tiful (some even stayed on to
help run the carnival), the
profits were gratifying, the
day was delightful, and
much fun was had by all.
The parents providing the
back yard were Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbur Weaver, 25 W.
Elizabeth St., Maytown.

bol and is reproduced to
form a border of red and
blue on white, the colors of
our National flag.
The seal was designed by
Robert L. Horst, who is the
Bicentennial Activity Com-
mittee Chairman for the
local Scout organization.

of 1974.

Borough cannot legally sell
the property directly to the
Graybills. If the Borough did
want to unload the property
it would be compelled to do
so at a public auction or by
sealed bids. By either
method the Graybills would
not be guaranteed that they
could acquire the property.
But the Borough is
absolutely opposed to sel-
ling public land, especially
land that is part of the

Airman Patrick W. Hen-
ry, son of retired Air Force
Technical Sergeant and
Mrs. Michael C. Henry,
Maytown, has graduated as
a missle guidance specialist
at Lowry AFB, Colorado.
Airman Henry was train-
ed to inspect and maintain
flight control systems of
air-to-air and air-to-ground
missles.
Henry graduated from
D.H.S. in 1972 and received
an associate’s degree in
1974 from Thompson Insti-
tute, Harrisburg.
DID YOU HEAR...
Stan Musial was amongst
a group of tourists from St.
Louis, Missouri who
stopped at the Catacombs in
Mount Joy on Tuesday,
August 12th. After touring
the Catacombs, they had
lunch at the Central Hotel.
