Did you Hear
Mr. & Mrs. Menno Hess,
S. Market Ave., Mount Joy,
were presented with two
grandaughters, both close
together and far apart.
On July 9, Mr. & Mrs.
Gary Jones of Fox Creek,
Canada, became
the parents of Susan Alice.
Mama Eunice (Hess) is a
DHS graduate who went off
after college to teach in a
Hutterite School in Canada
where she met and married
Gary, an employee of the
Hudson Bay Gas & Oil
Company. Eunice has not
been teaching school for
some years - since Susan
Alice was preceded by three
brothers and sisters.
And a few weeks later, on
August 2, Nathan and
Nancy (Gray) Hess had a
third child (and first girl),
Sarah Ann, in Portsmouth,
Virginia, where Lieutenant
Hess is stationed. Nathan is
also a DHS graduate. He
and Nancy, who is a
Bostonian, met when he was
stationed at a naval base.

&
Grandma Hess, who sould
be very experienced at these
things by now, since Susan
and Sarah are the 14th and
15th grandchildren, stayed
with both families for the
births. She enjoyed the
traveling and the visiting,
which has been going on
since Mid-June - but she is
glad to be home again in
Mount Joy. She says no
more new grandchildren are
expected in the near future -
that she knows about.

High travel costs keeping you out of touch? Think long distance. Our
high-performance telephones come in a wide variety of styles and colors. And
long distance means more (s)miles per penny.
So why don’t you slide up and get comfortable behind the dial? Then,
ring a smile from someone you miss. Long Distance. A great way to travel.
