Mount Joy's Swim Team
placed in ten events at the
County Swim Tournament
last Saturday.
Dean Buchenauer came in
first in the 50 meter
breaststroke and set a new
meet record for the county
with his time of 33.1 secs.
Buchenauer also came in
seventh in 100 meter free-
style for boys 17 and under.
Sherri Kinsey was fourth
in the SO meter freestyle for

Two all-star teams from the Lancaster County Women’s Softball League played against
each other Sunday afternoon in Sico Park, Mount Joy.
Onw team was composed of players from the Farm Diner, Chapman’s Apparel, Western
Auto, and Mount Joy teams.
The oppsoing team was composed of players from the Marietta, E-town Merchants,
Ridgeview Farms, and Chiques teams.
The latter team won, 14-7.
Although it had been announced at the beginning of the game that the winners would
toss the losers into the nearby Chiques Creek - nothing of the sort happened. The losing
team walked calm and dry off the field.
The first team was composed of: Sharon redcay, Betty Girven, Nancy Greenwalt, Lynn
Baker, Dottie Kraft, Marty Ebersole, Doris Burns, Cheryl ‘‘Bird’’ Brandt, Sandy Aller,
Lois flowers, Cheryl Crowe, and Sherry Donley.
The second and winning all-star team was composed of: Norma Heisey, Judy Ginder,
Deb Berrier, Joan Shekky, Barb Hoover, Holly Baker, Loris Raber, Sue Weidman, Cass
Thome, Cindy Smith, Tanya Cunningham, and Barb Blue.
D.H.S. class of 1960 gets together

Members of the class of 1960 of Donegal High School held their 15th reunion at the
Sherwood Knoll, Centerville, Saturday night. Gary Gillham served as master of
ceremonies, and Louise Houseal was program chairperson.
Table prizes were won by Linda Koser Wiedman, Loretta Scholl Portner, Gary Stark, Pat
Hopple, Esther Rice Shirk, Mary Ginder, Bonnie Bair Wise, Jane Brubaker Barge, and
Mike Mumma.

Becton dies
Roger O. Becton, 128 Gay
Street, Marietta, died in an
auto accident Sunday morn-
ing about a mile south of
Marietta along Route 441.
Becton was employed by
the Bureau of Employment
Security in Lancaster.
He attended Bethel A. M.
E. Church.
He served in the Army
in the Korean War.
His survivors are his
widow, Jean Jenkins Bec-
ton; five daughters: Valen-
cia Hall and Eyvette and
Robin Becton of Kingston,
N.C., and Sharon and Mitzi
Sanders, New York; three
step-daughters: Sandra Jen-
kins McKinney, Jean Jen-
kins and Georgian Jenkins;
three step-sons: George,
John, and Lynn Jenkins.
Also surviving are his
paternal grandmother, Ger-
trude Becton, Kingston,
N.C., and seven grandchil-
dren.
