Four local girls enter Junior Miss contest

Four Donegal High School
seniors have entered the
Junior Miss Lancaster
County Contest. They will
compete for the title in
September.
Entered in the race will be
Claudia Brandt, daughter of

as her talent. Her high
school activities include
National Honor Society,
Chess club, Decoupage
club, Donegal Indians for
Basketball ‘75-‘76;;. She
works as a waitress at
Clearview Diner and hopes
to become a medical secre-
tary when she completes
school. Her hobbies include
swimming, chess, basket-
ball, and baseball.
Kathleen Jones is a

arts when she graduates
from Donegal. She will offer
a vocal solo as her talent in
the contest.
Melody Mummau has
served as treasurer of the
Band, Stage band, News-
paper stuff, Junior Achieve-
ment, County band 9 and
10, Booster club (treas.),
National Honor Society,
Who's Who, German club,
and editor of the Literary
magazine. She hopes to
attend Penn State. Melody
will present a flute solo as
committee
C.C. has its National Office
and Museum in Columbia,
PA.
Mr. Balt received Nation-
al acclaim after restoring the
- famous David Rittenhouse
Astronomical Clock at the
Pennsylvania Hospital in
Philadelphia. The clock was
under construction for about
6 years, while he had to
make many broken and
missing parts.
It was made in the 1760’s
by David Rittenhouse, who
was our Nation’s first and
foremost astronomer and
the first director of the U.S.
Mint in Philadelphia and for
whom Rittenhouse Square is
named.
Bi-Centennial Event

**Open Doors to History”
a tour of nine homes plus
area churches in the May-
town area will be held
Sunday, September 14th.
Sponsored by the Bicenten-
nial Committee the benefit
will be held from 1:30 until 6
p.m.
Arnold’s Pontiac-Oldsmo-
bile Showroom, which was
once the town’s community
center and later a band hall,
will have area photos
arranged by Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Libhart.
A half-hour musical will
be presented in St. John's
Lutheran Church, and a
turkey dinner will be served
by members of the Maytown
Fire Company Auxiliary.
A band concert will be
presented by the Bainbridge
Band from 4 to 6 p.m. in
center square. Admission to
the concert will be tree.

Natalie Zuch is secretary
of the band, a member of
the Spanish club, Art club,
Stage band librarian,
Rhythm singers, Spanish
club, Honor Society,
Chorus and participated in
its productions of Brigadoon
and Camelot. She plans to
study art in college and is
president of Zion Lutheran
Youth Group. She will offer
a vocal solo as her talent.
