Annie Arnold looks forward to 96th birthday
colorful flowers and scen-
ery. Her hobby is sending
cards to all of her family and
friends. She never forgets
anniversaries, birthdays, or
holidays. She is also an avid
letter writer.

Mrs. Annie Smith Arnold,
Maytown, will be 96 years
old on August 12. The oldest
resident of that boro is
active around the home of
her daughter Roberta, with
whom she resides, and loves Mrs. Arnold was born
to ride by auto to view the August 12, 1879, at Cones-
toga Center, Pennsylvania.
Her husband, Daniel, died
in 1951. Three sons and five
daughters are still living.
One twin daughter, Rebec-
ca, died in 1938. The couple
lived in this area most of

drunkenness charge. This
time the charge was a
graver one, and one “‘which
did not appeal to the
sensibilities’ of his judges.
He was accused of whistling
on the Sabbath. The
evidence does not show that
his musical efforts were
boisterous, nor his selec-
tions irreverant, but the
Presbytery found sufficient
evidence to convince its
members that the ‘‘offen-
sive’’ whistling indicated a
vacuity of thought and a
disposition at variance with
the proper spirit of the
Lord’s Day, and the whole
matter is closed by the
significant entry: ‘‘For good
and sufficient
