Congregational Bible
Church Youth Fellowship
recently acquired a fleet of
six 17 ft. Grumman Canoes
to be used in youth and
camping activities with
youth of Marietta and
surrounding communities.
The canoes are transported
on a custom designed and
constructed trailer.
Funds for the project were
raised by the young people,
with help from adults, by
housing chickens for local
poultrymen. Approximately
125,000 chickens were
housed to raise the neces-

aware and Schuylkill Rivers
and Pine Creek were loca-
tions of past river canoe
trips, with 26 youths spend-
ing this past weekend on the
Delaware River.
July 29 and 31, the group
is sponsoring 1 day nature
float trips on the Conestoga
River, guided by Naturalist
Robert Wyble of Lancaster
County Park. Interested

Singer coming to pool

On Friday, July 18th,
there will be an evening of
gospel music at the Mount
Joy Lion’s Club Swimming
Pool from 7:00 P.M., to
10:30 P.M. The featured
guest of the evening will be
Mr. Bruce Heffner, a
talented musician, who will
emcee the evening's pro-
gram as well as play the
trumpet. Singing will be
provided by six youth
singing groups from local
churches. Churches in-
volved in this evening of
music include The Cross
Roads Brethren in Christ
Church, The Elizabethtown
Church of the Brethren, The
St. Mark’s United Metho-
dist Church, The Congrega-
tional Bible Church, The
Mount Joy Church of God,
and The Mount Joy Menno-
nite Church. Throughout
the evening; swimming,
volleyball, and basketball
facilities will also be avail-
able for everyone’s enjoy-
ment. The price of
admission for the evening
will be $1.25 per person.
