CHAUTAUQUA OUTDOOR
ART SHOW
Over one hundred artists
will be exhibiting their work
at the 1st Annual Mt.
Gretna Outdoor Art Show.
The show and sale are being
held ‘“‘in the park’’ on July
S, 1975, from 9 a.m. until
dusk. Rain date is sche-
duled for Sunday, July 6.
Many artist and crafts-
men will be demonstrating
their skills as well as
exhibiting. Painting (in all
media), sculpture, pottery,
metalwork, leather craft,
photography, and jewelry
are but few of the crafts to
be exhibited. The show is
being sponsored by the
Pennsylvania Chautauqua
Association. All work will
be for sale, and admission is
free to the public.
The show will also feature
musical groups from the
area, which should provide
an exciting backdrop for the
day’s activities. For those
who want to make a day of
it, refreshments will be
available.

Laude from Thompson

Technology, on June 6th.
Carol received her associate
degree in Medical Secretar-
ial Assistant and was
presented the ‘‘Best Typist
from the Senior Class”
award. Miss Frymoyer is
also a graduate of Donegal
High School.

SHOWS WOODCRAFT
AT FESTIVAL
George Martin’s wood-
craft will be on display at the
Dutch Family Festival,
starting June 25 at the
Guernsey Cattle Sales Pav-
illion on Rt. 30, East of
Lancaster.
Martin, a Chickentown
Resident, has displayed his
fine woodwork at previous
festivals.
The annual event, which
includes drama, farm and
kitchen centers, as well as
crafts displays, is devoted to
exploring the Mennonite
identity.

reports 0 calls in May

President Doug Estock,
called the June Sth meeting
of Friendship Fire Company
No. 1 to order at 7:30 p.m.
Chief Frank Good repor-
ted 6 calls for the month of
May. Friendship answered
an assist call to Manheim
Fire Department to fight. a
blaze at Rimar Manufactur-
ing, May 9th. They also
responded to an accidental
false alarm at Lancaster
Leaf Tobacco Warehouse in
Mount Joy. May 21st the
Department responded to a
car fire in Rapho Township
on Hossler Road. The fire
was caused by a gas leak
with a resulting damage of
$900.00. May 22nd Friend-
ship fulfilled a service call in
Mount Joy Township to fill a
swimming pool. May 24th
the company stood by for
the fireworks display at
Mount Joy Vo-Tech School
(Memorial Day Celebra-
tion). Another service call
was on May 29th to fill a
swimming pool in Mount
Joy. A total of 43 men (an
average of 21 men) respon-
ded to the 3 fire calls. The
Department was in service 9
hrs. 30 min. The chief noted
34 calls for the year. Chief
Good also reported a new
handlight was needed and
some Scott Air Packs have
to be updated.
The new Horton ambu-
lance was placed in service
May 19, 1975. The 1972
Cadillac ambulance was sold
to a private ambulance
service in Baltimore, Mary-
land. The ambulance an-

firefighters and ambulance
personnel only.

George Hedrick residence,
the meeting was adjourned.
