Trinity Lutheran Church,
Mount Joy, will hold its
Daily Vacation Bible School
from June 23 to June 27
from 9:00 to 11:30a.m. each
day. The theme this year
will be ‘And God Says, ‘I
Promise’’. This Concordia
Publishing House Program
is being offered to the
children of the community
from age 3 years to 7th
grade.
The Nursery for 3 year
olds will be under the
direction of Mrs. Charles
Ream, assisted by Jeany
Lauver, Sheri Smith and
Leissa Riley.
The nursery for 4 year
olds will be under the
direction of Mrs. Linda Rice
and Mrs. Marilyn Etsell,
assisted by Laurie Zerphey
and Cindy Hendrix.
The Kindergarten will be
under the direction of Mrs.

A covered dish picnic was
held by members of Zion
~ Lutheran Church, Marietta,
on Sunday, in honor of
fathers and new members.
The social held on the
church lawn, was arranged
by the social affairs commit-
te. Silver dollars were
awarded to: the father
whose birthday was closest
to June 15 and the youngest
grandfather present, Ben
Thompson; the father who
drove the oldest car to the
picnic, Harry Houck; the
father with the longest hair,
Claude Bensinger; and the
oldest father, Carl Zuch;
plus the youngest father,
Larry Gillham.
New members accepted

etta last week at the Central
Pennsylvania Episcopal Dio-
cesan Convention held at
Bucknell University, Lewis-
burg, PA.
Mrs. Vickie Dietrick was
active in the Diocesan
Convention Program, de-
scribing helpful attributes in
the conduct of an ideal
Church School class.
The Youth of St. John’s
Parish wore their uniforms
to create a sense of
Christian Unity for the first
time. An emblem on their
breast pockets contained the
motto and unified purpose
of the Youth: ‘‘Service to
God and Country.”’
Promotions and awards
were presented on Sunday,
June 8. Perfect attendance
awards were received by the
following children from St.
John’s: pre-school, Sherry
and Jimmy Albert; 2nd
grade, Sandy Geesey and
Edward Albert; 6th grade,
Bambi Floyd.
