Wrestling
Clinic
The first Lancaster-Leba-
non Counties Wrestling
Clinic will be held August 11
through ‘August 15 from 9
a.m. to 12 noon in the
restling gym at Donegal
High School..
The clinic is geared for
wrestlers in grades 6 to 9.
Cost is $10 per wrestler, $9
if registered before June 12.
Charge for an additional
wrestler in the same family
is $5. Insurance is included
in tuition costs.
The clinic staff is com-
posed of varisty and junior
varsity coaches from the two
counties, also college coa-
ches from the area.
Applications can be ob-
tained from coaches in a
student’s area. Checks
should be made payable to
the Lancaster-Lebanon
Counties Wrestling Coaches
Association, which is spon-
soring the clinic. Proceeds
will be used to improve
wrestling in the Lancaster-
Lebanon League.

SWIM TEAM
PARENTS CLUB MEETS

The parents of the Mount
Joy Swim Team met for the
first of the 1975 Swim
Season, at the Mount Joy
Lions Club Pool.
Pres. Gerald Nolt conduc-
ted the meeting as tne club
approved the hiring of Dean
Buchenauer, coach and
Newton Kendig, assistant
coach. Committeemen were
appointed as follows:
Refreshments (home meets)
- Sandy Kling, Officials -
Marlene Drace, Publicity -
Sandy Gingrich, Food Sale -
Hazel Germer, Transporta-
tion - Charles Drace, Scor-
ing - Betty Kinsey, Awards -
Jim Gingrich, and Swim
Team Suits - Betty Kinsey
and Betty Hershey.
A registration fee was
decided upon for the chil-
dren participating in the
swim program.
Dean Buchenauer
announced anyone who is a
member of the Mount Joy
Lions, Post and who is
between the ages of 6 and 17
years old, who would like to
swim on the team should
come to practice Tue. June
19th through June 14th at
11:00 a.m. at the Mount Joy
Pool.
Anyone who is interested
in supporting the swim team
at home and away meets the
schedule is as follows for
their 1975 season: HOME

July 1-Mount Joy at Adams-
town. July 7th-Ephrata Red
at Mount Joy. July 1Sth-

Summer rec program
needs money to go on
The Donegal School
Board was forced to make
many cuts in its budget next
year to keep taxes from
going exceedingly higher.
One cut the board decided
to make was the elimination
of a contribution of $4305 to
the summer recreation pro-
gram in the area.
As a result funds will have
to found elsewhere if the
summer program will be
able to continue as it has in
the past.
Local service organiza-
tions like the Lions and
Welcome Wagon have made
contributions to keep the
summer rec program opera-
ting.
Director Warren L. Hay-
man believes that programs
can operate successfully in
Maytwon, Marietta, and
Mount Joy with sufficient
contributions, but some
playground staff may have

the season, 9—11. Jeff
McCarty went 3 for 4 for
Township and scored three
runs, while teammate Mark
Smith had 5 RBIs with 2
hits.
Tim Arndt led the losers
with a double and a single,
and Rick Hilt got his first hit
of the season, a home run.
Mount Joy is now 2—1 for
the season.

The Marietta Recreation
Association hopes to raise
sufficient money for Mariet-
ta’s program through the
Children’s Fair this Satur-
day.
But in East Donegal and
Mount Joy, more money is
still needed.
There are plans to solicit
contributions door-to-door
in East Donegal. Contribu-
tions can also be sent to
Supervisor Lloyd H. Fuhr-
man, R.D. 1, Marietta.
Fuhrman has stated that the
township can advance mo-
ney for the recreational
program, but hopes that it
will be underwritten by
voluntary contributions.
In Mount Joy contribu-
tions to the summer recrea-
tion program should be sent
to Borough Manager, Jo-
seph Bateman, Borough
Hall.

VOLUNTEERS
Girl Scout leaders report:
‘Adult dropouts in the
Donegal area scouting have
necessitated a concentrated
recruitment plea to those
interested in maintaining
the present membership in
this worthwhile national
girl’s organization. These
volunteer positions may be
filled not only by mothers;
but grandmothers, friends,
young adults, and men who
are willing to work with and
guide girls to becoming
more worthwhile citizens.
Larger membership could
be possible if more interest-
ed volunteers were made
available.
‘Some troops presently in
operation are threatened
with disbandment due to
leader vacancies next Sep-
tember.
‘In addition to the need
for co-leaders, active Ser-
vice Team people are
needed to help in organizing
and promoting needed ser-
vice projects and scouting
programs.
‘Orientation and courses
are made available by the
G.S. Council for. all those
willing to help in these
phases of scouting.
