Mount Joy Boro Authority weighs
At the last meeting of the
Mount Joy Borough Autho-
rity, Robert Stark showed a
sketch of an artist's concep-
tion of a new building for a
pumping station at the two
wells on the Wolgemuth
property in East Donegal
Township. The buliding is
compatible with surroun-
ding properties and build-
ings.
Plans for additions and
alterations to the wastewa-
ter treatment plant were
discussed. Summary of a
study carried out an engi-
neering firm in Harrisburg
considers both the possibili-
ties of enlarging the Chckies
plant or the constrcution of a
long outfall sewer to the
Susquehanna.

reported that the test boring
at the water standpipe site
east of the borough has been
completed and shows a good
foundation for construction.
The Authority is considering
beginning construction in
September.
Payment of a requisition
of $9,627.10 for engineering
services for adding to and
improving the water supply
and distribution systems
was approved.
Also, the payment of
$2,335.80 for engineering
services and lab equipment
for the sewage treatment
plant was approved.
Gerald Grove, represen-
ting the Donegal Fish and
Conservation Association;
Donald Zeller, representing
the Mount Joy Sportsmen;
Henry Hackman, Lancaster
County Conservation Dis-
trict; and Aaron Stauffer,
Pennsylvania Conservation
District Director, attended
the public hearing and
objected to the plan of
building a pipeline to the
Susquehanna.
They stated that a local
industry has not completed
plans for the construction of

Mrs. Stephen Nickey, as
president of the Marietta
Company

CELEBRATE 50th
Mr. and Mrs. J. Donald
Eichler, 621 Square St.,
Mount Joy, celebrated their
S0th wedding anniversary,
June 6, 1975. They were
honored at a dinner given by
their children at the Rheems
Fire Hall.
They are the parents of
five children. Norma, wife of
W. H. Derr, Lancaster,
James, Elizabethtown,
Franklin, Donald, and
Ralph, all of Mount Joy. The
couple has 9 grandchildren
and five great-grandchild-
ren.
Mrs. Eichler is the former
Ruth Shelley, and was
employed by the Elizabeth-
town Children’s Hospital for
a number of years. Mr.
Eichler retired from the
former Bachman Chocolate
Company and is now em-
ployed full time by Eliza-
bethtown College.
