SAINT. MARK’S AUCTION
TO BENEFIT YOUTH
Four young persons,
three high school seniors
and a junior from the
Donegal High School, will
be spending 10 days this
summer in the Dominican
Republic on a Teen Project
sponsored by the Christian
Medical Society. Newt
Kendig, Sharon Grissinger,
Judy Keller and Michael
Kohler of Mount Joy and
members of St. Mark's
United Methodist Church
liave been selected to
journey to the West Indies
to engage in Medical Group
Mission there on a Teen
Outreach Team. The dates
are August 12 through 21.
In order to help defray the
expenses of such a trip for
the young people, the youth
of the St. Mark’s congrega-
tion are holding a public
auction in the rear of the
church on Saturday, May
31st, beginning at 10 A.M.
Mr. Harold Keller, a mem-
ber of St.Mark’s Church and
well-known local auctioneer
will conduct the sale; youth
of the church will assist him.
A food sale will also be held
simultaneously in the
church’s fellowship hall
under the direction of Mrs.
Nancy Greenwalt and Mrs.
Kitty Poegraff. For those
who wish to eat at the sale,
barbacues, hotdogs and
sauerkraut will be available
together with soft drinks
and coffee.
Anyone wishing to offer
good items for the sale
either on a direct gift or
commission basis should
contact the church office
(653-5493). Food items like
baked goods, salads etc.
should be brought to the
church early in the day.
The proceeds from this
auction will be used in their
entirety to help pay for the
unusual opportunity afford-
ed these fine young people
