MARK’S AUCTION TO BENEFIT YOUTH Four young persons, three high school seniors and a junior from the Donegal High School, will be spending 10 days this summer in the Dominican Republic on a Teen Project sponsored by the Christian Medical Society. Newt Kendig, Sharon Grissinger, Judy Keller and Michael Kohler of Mount Joy and members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church liave been selected to journey to the West Indies to engage in Medical Group Mission there on a Teen Outreach Team. The dates are August 12 through 21. In order to help defray the expenses of such a trip for the young people, the youth of the St. Mark’s congrega- tion are holding a public auction in the rear of the church on Saturday, May 31st, beginning at 10 A.M. Mr. Harold Keller, a mem- ber of St.Mark’s Church and well-known local auctioneer will conduct the sale; youth of the church will assist him. A food sale will also be held simultaneously in the church’s fellowship hall under the direction of Mrs. Nancy Greenwalt and Mrs. Kitty Poegraff. For those who wish to eat at the sale, barbacues, hotdogs and sauerkraut will be available together with soft drinks and coffee. Anyone wishing to offer good items for the sale either on a direct gift or commission basis should contact the church office (653-5493). Food items like baked goods, salads etc. should be brought to the church early in the day. The proceeds from this auction will be used in their entirety to help pay for the unusual opportunity afford- ed these fine young people to be in mission this summer. CHURCH OF GOD HELD MOTHER{DAUGHTER BANQUET by Hazel Baker The 41st annual mother and daughter banquet of the Maytown Church of God was held at Hostetters Banquet Hall with Mrs. Gerald Lindemuth chair- person of arrangements.. Mrs Claudia Hopf de- monstrated her scissor cut- tings for the group and the arnold sisters, Teri Sharon, and Bonnie, presented se- veral vocal selections. Mrs. Gerald Lindemuth and her daughter, Jolene, presented a reading, ‘“‘Home and Mother.”’. Prize winners for the number of years they attended the affair were won by Mrs. Carl Houseal, Mrs. Mervin Arnold, Mrs Doro- thy Singer and Mrs. George Engle. GLOSSBRENNER COMMUNION The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be cele- brated at Glossbrenner U- nited Methodist Church, Mount Joy, on June 1, in the 9:30 morning worship service and again at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel. Seven 1975 high school graduates of the congrega- tion will be honored in the morning service. There are two graduates from institu- tions of higher education.
