Scouts camp,
take trip to zoo
Fathers and sons of Pack |
263 held :a Campout on
Friday night May 9 in Ruhl’s
meadow R.D.#2, Mount
Joy. Sixteen boys and seven
adults attended, a doggie
and marshmallow roast was
enjoyed by all and several
games were played. The
Cubs returned home Satur-
day morning.
The Pack also went on a
Trip by Bus to the Philadel-
phia Zoo on Saturday, May
17. Forty three person
enjoyed a fine trip with good
sunny weather. The Pack is
making plans for a trip to
Baltimore on Tuesday night,
June 10 to see the Baltimore
Orioles play the Oakland
A's.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. McMillan, who celebrated their S0th
wedding anniversary on May 12.

Well informed tour guides explain the
many facets of brewing in the upper and
lower levels of Lancaster County's oldest
brewery. Giant vats are still in place within
the Lagering Cellar. The fermented brew was
placed in wooden casks in order to age for a
period of 30 days before being drawn off into
smaller kegs which were stored 43 feet below the
street surface. Temperature remains around 50 de-
grees year around in the Catacombs.

Marietta Jaycees plan for Fourth of July
Publicity Chairman, Don-
ald Simmons has announced
plans for the Marietta
at 1pm Saturday.
This year’s committee-
men are Rick Smedley,
William Sload, Rick Sload,
and C. Willis Herr under
General Chairman James
Yeaglin. There will be
varied stands and plenty of
refreshments, as well as
musical entertainment.
The weekend will be
highlighted by a fireworks
display to be the Jaycees’
largest ever, costing $1,700.
Simmons urges: ‘Please
reserve the 4th for the
Marietta Jaycees and help
us begin the Bicentennial
Celebration events’
