ZION UCC
REACHES GOAL
Zion’s United Church of
Christ of Marietta is happy
to announce that the goal
to have its sanctuary repaint-
ed and re-decorated has been
reached. With this goal in
mind, the Women’s Guild
of the church sponsored
varicus fund-raising projects,
tue most recent of which
was the Holiday Bazaar fea-
tured as a news article in
this newspaper in Novem-
ber.

A Mother-Daughter Des-
sert will be held May 10th
at 6:30 p.m. by Chiques
United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Dorothy Parmer, a
talented musician, and parti-
cipant in many musical ac-
tivities, blends comedy with
song to become the “Mad
Hatter” and the entertain-
ment for the evening. Mrs.
Parmer presents a lavish
show with costume and a
variety of tunes.
You will thoroughly en-
joy being entertained by the
“Mad Hatter.”
MOTHER'S DAY AT
ST. MARK’S CHURCH
An unusual Mother’s Day
worship experience is plann-
ed for St. Mark’s United
Methodist Church at 10:15
am. on May 11th. The
music for the day will be
provided by the Cherub and
Wesley Choirs under the di-
rection of Miss Marilyn
Strominger. The Rev. W.
Richard Kohler will con-
duct a Service of Christian
Baptism for Infants. He
will also bring a message
on the theme, “A Place
of Honor.”
Mothers who are in at-
tendance at the service will
receive special commenda-
tion and be given a surprise
which is being provided by
the youth of the congre-
gation.
On the following Sunday
St. Mark’s will observe Pen-
tecost, and 16 young per-
sons from the Pastor’s Class
will be confirmed and enter
into full membership in the
Church of Jesus Christ.
To these and all worship
and fellowship opportuni-
ties at St. Mark’s Church

gist at Elizabethtown Coll-
ege and writer and speaker
on Mennonite identity will
be one of the leaders of the
seminar.

Anabaptism,” “My Personal
Identity Crisis,” “The Old
Order World View,” “What
Remains of the Dream?”
and “Present-Day Customs
and Beliefs of the Various

MSC
honors
Madara
Scott Madara, former
Donegal High three-sport
athlete, received a major
award at the Millersville
State College all-sports ban-
quet attended by over 400
MSC athletes.
Madara, who was center
and a tri-captain of the
1974 Millersville football
varsity, was awarded the
Triple Effort Trophy which
is given to the player with
the best attitude, hustle and
enthusiasm for the year.
A senior majoring in in-
dustrial arts, he also re-
ceived his third consecutive
varsity letter. He is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. James Ma-
dara, 705 West Main St.,
Mount Joy, and expects to
graduate from Millersville
>n May 10.
At Donegal, he won let-
ters in football, baseball and
basketball and was an all-
county selection at tackle
in football his senior year.
