WOMEN MEET
The April meeting of the
Council of Catholic Women
of St. Mary’s, Mount Joy,
took place at the home of
Mrs. Gerald Sheetz, Main
St., Mount Joy. Mass was
celebrated prior to the meet-
ing by Father Joseph Kof-
chock.
Plans for a donut sale
were finished.
A rummage sale will be
held on May 17th from 10
a.m. until 3 p.m. in the barn
behind the Sheetz Funeral
Home on Main Street,
Mount Joy.
Reports of the Diocesean
Convention of Catholic Wo-
men were given by the dele-
gates.
The May meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs.
Joan Toth, R. D. 2, Mount
Joy.
WOMEN'S DAY AT
BETHEL A.M.E.
The Annual Women’s Day
of the Bethel A.M.E. Church
W. Fairview St. Marietta,
will be held Sunday, May 4.
The morning service will be
held at 11:30 a.m. and an
afternoon service beginning
at 3:30 p.m. The speaker
for the morning service will
be Mrs. Hazel Jackson, who
is the assistant professor of
English at Millersville State
College. Mrs. Jackson, a
very dynamic speaker, is a
member of Bethel A.M.E.
Church, Lancaster, and the
wife of Mr. Grady Jackson.
She is the mother of two
daughters. The Jacksons
reside at 213 S. Marshall St.,
Lancaster.
Miss Minnie Jenkins,
world traveler and noted
missionary, will be the after-
noon speaker. She is a re-
sident of Harrisburg and a
member of the Shiloh
Church of God in Christ.
Miss Jenkins was guest
speaker for the World Day
of Prayer service a few years
ago. She is also a sister of
the late George M. Jenkins
who was an active church
and civic worker.
The annual Women’s Day
is sponsored by the Mission-
ary Society of the Bethel
A.M.E. Church. Mrs. Cath-

Distler, “Sing to the Lord a
New Song” by Pitoni,
“From the Depths Have I
Called unto Thee” by Mo-
zart, and “Cast Thy Burden
upon the Lord” by Mendel-
ssohn.
The pastor, W. Richard
Kohler, will speak briefly on
the theme, “The Sound of
Music.”
In the evening, at 7:30
p.m., the Donegal High
School Chorus will come to
St. Mark’s Church for its
final concert of the current
school year. It will be held in
the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. RoAnn Lau directs the
chorus. A reception for the
chorus will be held immed-
iately after the concert.
The community is invited
to join with the people of St.
Mark’s Church in praising
God through music.
