REFUSE ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE AS-
SESSMENT BY BOROUGH
COUNCIL OF AN AN-
NUAL SERVICE CHARGE
FOR BOROUGH REFUSE
COLLECTION SERVICES.
BE IT ORDAINED AND
ENACTED by the Borough
. Council of the Borough of
Mount Joy, Lancaster Coun-
ty, Pennsylvania, and it is
hereby ordained and enact-
ed as follows:
Section 1. The first para-
graph of Section 9 of the
Borough of Mount Joy Re-
fuse Ordinance being Or-
dinance No. .362 enacted
May 13,1974 is amended to
read as follows:
Borough Council
shall, by resolution,
fix and assess an an-
nual service charge for
Borough refuse collec-
tion services against
each dwelling unit, re-
gradless of occupancy.
The annual service
charge shall be for
Borough refuse collec-
tion services from Jan-
uary 1 to December
31 of each year. The
annual service charge
shall be a minimum
service charge for
which the maximum
removal of refuse is
four (4) twenty (20)
gallon containers or
the equivalent, but not
to exceed eighty (80)
pounds in weight. Dur-
ing each calendar year,
the Borough Manager
shall bill each owner
or owners of the
dwelling units in the
Borough for the ser-
vice charge, The ser-
vice charge shall be
paid annually within
thirty (30) days after
the date of the billing
by the owner or own-
ers of the dwelling
unit. If the owner-
ship of the dwelling
unit changes during
the year, the service
charge may be appor-
tioned between the
owners on a pro rata
basis.
Section 2. In all other
respects, Ordinance, No. 362,
enacted May 13, 1974, in-
cluding the remaining sub-
paragraphs under Section 9
shall remain the same.
