Wesley Singers, a select
group of 15 girls (grades 7-
through 9) from St. Mark’s,
will offer a musical drama-
tization entitled “A Day
Like Today” by Bruce Van-
dervalk. It is a reenactment
of the events of Easter
morning with full costume.
Assisting the Wesley Sing-
ers and taking leading parts
in the dramatization will be
Kim Lauver who will play
the part of Mary and Keith
Gephart who will portray
Jesus. The presentation is
under the direction of Miss
Marilyn Strominger, St.
Mark’s Choral Director.
Members of the Wesley

18th, the Wesley Singers
will be featured in a Junior
Musical about Daniel, Ne-
buchadnezzar, Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego by
Buryl Red and Grace Haw-
thorne entitled “It’s Cool
in the Furnace.”
The community is invited
to share the sound and in-
spirational message of this
fine singing group.

PRODUCTIONS, INC.
AT TRINITY
LUTHERAN
“Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego,” will be drama-
tized by Maranatha Produc-
tions, Inc., at Trinity Lu-
theran Church, W. Main St.,
Mount Joy, on Sunday,
April 6 at 7 p.m.
The production is a Bib-
lical account of three He-
brew young men thrown to
perish into a fiery Baby-
lonian furnace, based on the
Old Testament account in
the Book of Daniel.
Written by Dan Neider-
myer, the half-hour drama-
tization features area TV
personality Merv Sands, Leo-
la, as the Hebrew youth
Shadrach. Two brothers,
Dave and Dan Robie, also
of Leola, create the roles
of Meshach and Abednego.
The Bible Study Group
of Trinity. Church, sponsors
of the event, invite the pub-
lic to join them for an even-
-ing of Christian fellowship. .

CENTENNIAL
CELEBRATION
The Mount Joy Church
of God, Ralph Warner, Pas-
tor, will celebrate the 100th
Anniversary of the occu-
pancy of the sanctuary lo-
cated at 30 East Main Street,
Mount Joy, with a series
of special services April 13-
to 20. Guest speakers for
Sunday, April 13 will be
Dr. Richard Wilkin, General
Conference Administrator at
10 a.m. and John A. Par-
themore, Jr., Editor of the
Church Advocate, at 7:30
p.m. Other guest speakers
include former pastors Theo-
dore Bowers, Monday, Don-
ald Cohick, Tuesday and
Harry M. Mumper, Wednes-
day. Thursday night Dr.
J. E. Lewis will speak.
The Senior Choir of the
host church will supply
special music for these ser-
vices. Friday night W. Ri-
chard Kohler, pastor of St.
Mark’s United Methodist
Church, will speak and St.
Mark’s Choir will provide
special music. The Saturday
night service, in charge of
the CGYA, will feature a
musical program with the
Joy Singers and Kay Wea-
ver, guest soloist.
Sunday morning, April
20, Dr. Kenneth E. Bol-
dosser, Conference Superin-
tendent, will be guest speak-
er; the evening service will
be “A Tribute to Composers
of Hymns” presented thru
hymns by the congregation,
hymns and anthems by the
Senior Choir and organ se-
lections by Ethel M. Broske,
organist and choir director.
A booklet, including
photographs and a history
of the church written by
Ralph Snyder, has been pub-
lished and will be available
for a nominal fee during the
celebration. The CGYA,
under the direction of Cory
Funk, is sponsoring the sale
of commemorative plates.
Memorabilia will be display-
ed in the education building.
The public is cordially
invited to attend these ser-
vices.
