Fellowship in Egypt.
LENTEN SERVICES
The fourth in a series of
Wednesday evening Lenten
| services, co-sponsored by
the Florin Church of the
Brethren and Glossbrenner
United” Methodist Church,
Mount Joy, will be held at
Glossbrenner Church on
March 5, at 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Mark J. Hostetter,
Lancaster District Superin-
tendent of the Eastern Penn-
sylvania Conference of The
United Methodist Church,
will be the guest speaker.
The theme of the series is
“Scenes From the Life of
the Master” taken from the
Gospel of Matthew. This
week’s topic will be “Trans-
figuration.”
Special music and con-
gregational singing will be
part of the service. Nursery
care will be provided.
BIBLE STUDIES WITH
MYRON AUGSBURGER
“Bible Studies with My-
ron Augsburger,” a new
weekly 15-minute program
featuring the president of
Eastern Mennonite College,
began this month (March 2)
on a Lancaster County radio
station.
The series is being broad-
cast 1:30 p.m. Sundays on
WDAC-FM.
Offered as a public ser-
vice by EMC with a grant
from Interchurch Evange-
lism, the program is. a re-
sponse to repeated requests
for such a ministry by Dr.
Augsburger, who is a theo-
logian and author in addi-
tion to his duties as presi-
dent of the Harrisonburg,
Va., college.
“We’re basically aiming
at a Christian audience, with
an emphasis on nurture and
principles of Biblical inter-
pretation,” Dr. Augsburger
said. The program is being
produced in the studios of
WEMC-FM on the EMC
campus.
Cassette tape recordings
of the series can be pur
chased and written trans-
scripts can be obtained by
writing to Department B at
EMC. Persons may also ob-
tain cassettes weekly on a
subscription basis.
HISTORICAL FIELD
TRIP
The second year con-
firmation class of 8th and
9th graders from Glossbren-
ner U. M. Church will spend
next Saturday on an histori-
cal field trip around Lancas-
ter County. They will visit
places of historical interest
relating to the beginnings
of their church.
