CHRISTIAN & MISSIONARY ALLIANCE CHURCH “A Thief in the Night,” a color film, will be showr, at the Christian and Mission- ary Alliance Church, 153 E. High St., Elizabethtown, Saturday, February 15 at 8 p.m. “A Thief in the Night” is a mighty motion picture about Bible prophecy. It shows what can happen when Jesus Christ returns. This story centers around Patty, an average girl caught up in living for the present, fF ov rR PFOA Er with little concern about the future. The fast moving pace in- cludes a young man con- fronted by a deadly Asian cobra, a young girl’s escape from jail, and a take-over by “The Imperium” that regards all who are not pro- perly identified by the “Mark of the Beast” as en- emies of the system. Filmed on location in Iowa, the story portrays with devastating reality the Biblical prediction, “there will be no place to hide.” One does not merely view this film, he experiences it. Every thinking person will seriously consider its impact. The film is being sponsor- ed by the Christian Service Brigade of the church and they cordially invite people of the community to attend. COOPERATIVE LENTEN SERVICE On this Wednesday even- ing, Feb. 12, the Coopera- tive Lenten Services of the Glossbrenner United Metho- dist Church and the Florin Church of the Brethren will open at the latter church at 7:00 p.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Dr. Harold Z. Bomberger, Exec. Secretary, Atlantic Northeast District of the Church of the Breth- ren. He will be the guest speaker at the first three of the Wednesday evening ser- vices with the Rev. Dr. Mark Hostetter, District Superin- tendent of the United Meth- odist Church bringing the messages the last three nights. The theme for this year’s services is “Scenes From the Life of the Master” and Rev. Bomberger will speak on Wednesday evening on “Christ’s Baptism.” There will also be featured special music along with congrega- tional singing. Rev. Bomberger is a na- tive of Annville, Pa., and took his undergraduate work at Elizabethtown College; graduate work was done at Bethany Theological Semin- ary, Gettysburg Seminary, and elsewhere. He has held distinguished pastorates in Westminster, Md. and for 11 years was pastor at Mc- Pherson, Kans., before ac- cepting his present position. He was elected Annual Con- ference Moderator of the Church of the Brethren for the year 1971. Mr. Bom- berger has travelled exten- sively and studied for a short period in Jerusalem. The general public is warmly invited to these Len- ten services beginning this Wednesday. “THANK YOU” DINNER St. John’s Episcopal Church, Marietta, will show its appreciation to all the people who helped in the restoration of the church Rectory at 209 E.
