Mrs. June Riley’s class of sixth graders at Riverview Elementary School has be- gun a new method of honor- ing the outstanding patrol person of the week. A patrol person can qualify for the honor in the following ways: being on duty every day on time; wearing a clean belt and polished badge on duty; setting an example by following all safety rules and showing exemplary behav- ior while in the classroom, cafeteria, halls and play- ground. Casey Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wag- ner and April Null, daughter of Mrs. Frances Null, won the honor for the week of January 1. Tammy Matheny and Kathy Way won the honor for the week of January 6. Tammy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Math- eny while Kathy Way is the daughter of Mrs. Patsy Way. Engle photos Horace Engle, a native of Marietta, was born in 1861 and lived with his family at the Engle Nurseries, loca- ted where the Armstrong Carpet Plant is now situated. The photos are of Marietta, Columbia and general Lan- caster County. The public is invited to attend this sess- ion.
