Paul Hossler Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hossler, Sr. has been promoted to Captain in the Air Force. He is stationed in California. Mrs. Alice Leas celebrated her birthday anniversary, December 2nd. Mrs. Jay Houseal celebrated her birthday anniversary, December 3rd. Sharon Welcomer celebrated her 10th birthday anniversary December 10th. Mr. and Mrs. John Buller recently returned from a vacation in Bermuda. Miss Helen Hollenbaugh and your correspondent called on friends in Shillington last Tuesday. Mrs. May Hicks and Miss Helen Hollenbaugh went on the Holly Trail in Lancaster last Saturday. The Fire Co., answered a Fire call to Falmouth last Friday. They answered an ambulance call last Saturday. Christmas Eve Services will be held in the following churches — St. John’s Lutheran, December 24; Reformed, December 24; Church of God, December 22; Church of the Brethren, December 24. The time of each service is 7:30 p.m. The Boy Scout Troop will have Christmas trees for sale at the vacant lot bet- ween Freemans and Nagys. They will also have a paper drive, December 28th. The Maytown Civic Association met last Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Ruth Newcomer. The same officers were reelected, Warren Rupp, president; Norman Houseal, vice president; Mrs. Ruth Newcomer, treasurer and Mrs. Hazel Crankshaw, secretary. No membership drive will be conducted. If you are interested, you are asked to pay your dues to the secretary. Scott Shank, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Yordy shot a four point buck while hunting in Potter County.
