Joins Air Force
James E. Farmer, son of

has enlisted in the United
States Air Force.
A 1973 graduate of Donegal
high school, he is attending
basic training at Lackland
Air Force Base, San Antonio,
Texas for six week. Farmer

center immediately after
basic training.

at 8 p.m. at the Mount Joy
Memorial Park.

Betsy Hallgren Wins Top
Honors on Hockey Team
Miss Betsy Hallgren,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
R.F. Hallgren, 154 N. Market
St., recently completed her
field hockey activities at
‘Michigan State university,
East Lansing, Mich., as the
center forward and co-
captain of the varsity team.
In post-season play, Miss
Hallgren was selected to the
number one Michigan All-
College hockey team, again
serving as co-captain. In
further tournament play, she
received honorable mention
on the Great Lakes Sectional
team. This area includes the
five states of Illinois,
Indiana, Minnesota,
Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Betsy is a 1971 graduate of
Donegal high school, where
she played varsity hockey
under the coaching of Mrs.
Joyce Zangari.
fellowship and singing of
Christmas carols.
The Mount Joy Com-
munity Chorus will sing
several selections. In case of
inclement weather, the
program will be held at the
Trinity Lutheran Church,
same date — same time.
A ‘‘Christmas In The
Park’’ poster contest is being
held by the sixth grade
students at Seiler
Elementary School the first
week of December.
