Landisville, called on your correspondent last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Houseal and son flew to Pittsburgh over the weekend to visit the Houseal’s son Steve. Mrs. Ruth Henderson, Perry Co. spent last week in town. Mrs. Henderson has joined the retirees. Mrs. Alice Leas, Mrs. Anna Haines and Mrs. Goldie Yordy attended the Naturalization meeting and dinner at Penn Ram Inn last Friday. Jerry Embly, Jr. celebrated his birthday anniversary last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Herr celebrated their wedding anniversary last Sunday. Mrs. Dorothy Weed returned from the hospital and is convalescing at ‘her home. Mrs. George Glattacker was hospitalized for several days last week. Henry Earhart is a surgical patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. The Golden Age Club will meet the 19th of November at the Reformed Church. A covered dish luncheon will be served at 12 o'clock. A covered dish supper will be served at the Reformed Church on Sunday at 6:30 p.m: Following it will be the showing of slides of our year’s activities. Revival is being held in the Church of God every evening this week. Mary White and Mary Hershey will show slides of mission work in Bangladesh and Haiti Nov. 23 at the above church. The Illuminator Class of the Church of God will meet Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bonham. Mrs. Richard Yates Will Be Speaker At Thanks Service Mrs. Richard Yates will be the speaker at the Thank Offering Service on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Rev. Richard Yates, have spent the past two summers in India under the Volunteers in Mission, program sponsored by the United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Yates will speak about her experiences in India and the work that the Church is doing at various mission posts. Ladies of the congregation will assist in the service, which begins at 11 a.m. Everyone welcome. Dr. Pierce Getz To Give Concert Dr. Pierce Getz, professor of organ and director of the Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra, will be featured in an organ recital at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, on Sunday af- ternoon, Nov. 24, at 4 o'clock. Sharing in the concert will be a brass quartet from the college. Dr. Getz will play works of Bruhns, Buxtehude, Bach, Sowerby, Langlais and Vierne. The quartet will play works of Pezel and Gabrieli with the organ. There will be several works for trumpet and organ by Purcell and Krebs. The congregation will be asked to join in the singing of ‘‘Now Thank We All Our God’ along with the organ and brass ensemble. A graduate of Lebanon Valley college with a B.S. degree in music education, Dr. Getz holds degrees of Master of Sacred Music from Union Theological Seminary, New York, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. He currently is organist-choir director at the Annville United Methodist Church. The program is open to the public. There is no admission charge. An offering will be received. E'town Professor Will Speak Sunday At Florin Church Dr. Austin D. Ritterspach, assistant professor of Religion, Elizabethtown college, will be the guest speaker at the evening service of the Florin Church of the Brethren Sunday evening Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. As a Biblical scholar and archeologist, Dr. Rit- terspach and family spent last year in Palestine on his sabbatical leave. While there he engaged in research at the Albright Institute of Archeology in Jerusalem and in actual archeological digs in Galilee and in the Sinai desert. The family experienced last year’s Israel-Arab War as residents of Jerusalem. ; Dr. Ritterspach and his wife will share their ex- periences by way of slides and dialogue.
