Then in the fourth quarter, after stopping the Elks on their own 4-yard line, the Braves fumbled again and the visitors scored on the next play for a 19-8 lead. A Steve Butz to Frank Brommer pass for 40 yards and the score narrowed the gap to 19- 14, but time ran out before the Braves could muster another score. The ‘A’ team poured it on as they scored a 37-0 rout. Mitch Johnson ran 10 yards with a fumble for a score, Scott Jones recovered two fumbles, Kyle Krady and Darryl Shank each in- tercepted a pass and Jody Longenecker recovered a fumble and also raced 25 yards for a score as when he caught a Brian Ney blocked punt in mid-air. Shank also sparkled as a kicker as he booted 3 extra points for the Braves. Randy Derr, Bob Pyle, Bob Stauffer, Joe Butz and Rick Gordner added their muscle to the defense as the Braves really went on the warpath. The ‘C’ team kept alive its pennant hopes with a rousing 32-0 romp. At the half the score was 6-0 as a result of a 5-yard plunge by Ron Kennedy, but in the second half the big guns unloaded. Marty Harmes, John Ott, Tom Luckabaugh and Todd Butz crossed the goal for 6- pointers. Meanwhile, the defense, led by Leroy Clarr, Rod Fellenbaum, Scott Hoover, Darrel Risberg, Scott Snyder, Kevin Famtom and Billy Dishart, com- pletely dominated their opponents. Jim Perry and Scott Hoover also chipped in with fumble recoveries. On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Braves will go to Lancaster to tangle with the Presidents on the Lancaster Township field off N.
