Mrs. May Hicks, Mrs. Ruth East Donegal High School Alumni Banquet was held at the Rheems Fire Hall June 22nd. The Invocation was given by The Rev. Aubrey woudie, 1902. William Heisey, 1936 welcomed the group after which a delicious roast beef dinner was served to 140 members and guests. George Waller accompanied by Mrs. Waller, 1919 led the group singing. Mrs. Mary Keiser Nolt brought greetings from the 50 year class. The Neucrology report was given by Mrs. Dorothy Ney Singer, 1925. The following brought greetings from other anniversary classes Howard Frysinger, 1899; Mrs. Helen Risser Moyer and Harry Blessing, 1914; Mrs. Alberta Boll Waller, 1919; John H. Drace, 1934; Mary Geibe Karnes, 1939; and Edward Richards, 1954. The floral center pieces were given away as door prizes. Mrs. Hazel Crankshaw, 1921 was: in charge of this game. After the singing of Auld Lang Synne the group was dismissed. ‘The class of 1934 had 13 members present. Michael Drace arrived home from Germany because of the death of his grandfather. After his leave Miss Lillian Sload, Mr. and Mrs. John Swick, Arlington, Va. and Mr. and Mrs. James Boker, Highspire visited Miss Mary Helen Hollen- baugh last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Weston, Lancaster, spent last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Huntzinger. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Matheny are visiting their son Keith in England. Mrs. May Hicks has joined the retirees as of the last day of school. The Golden Age Club visited Historic Strasburg last Tuesday. There were 50 members and guests. Lawrence Barnhart is a patient in the Columbia Hospital. He had eye surgery. The Susquehanna Bi- Centennial Committee has been appointed to plan events leading up to the Bi- Centennial year 1976. Council includes Maytown, Marietta and East Donegal Township. They are planning 3 walks into history this year. The first one will be July 21 in Maytown and Donegal with all churches open and emphasis on the Reformed, Lutheran and Donegal Presbyterian Churches. The tour will end at the Cameron Mansion. Time of the tour will be 1:30 Newcomer and Norman Houseal. On June 23rd at 10 a.m. Dennis Hall was ordained in the Chapel at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove. He will start his ministry in St. John’s Lutheran Church in July. The Rev. William Seaman of the Grace Church, Lebanon, was the guest minister at the Reformed Church last Sunday. The occasion was the 209th Anniversary Sunday. It was a pleasure to have him and his family back as he was a former minister at the Reformed Church. New Pastor The Rev. Dennis K. Hall, a native of Liberty, Pa., in Tioga county, will become the pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church, Maytown on July 1. A graduate of Susquehanna University and of the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, he took clinical pastorate education at the Lutheran hospital in Baltimore and interned in the Bloomsburg Area Lutheran Ministry and the Millersville Lutheran Parish.
