Two Are Graduated
From Nurse School
Two Mount Joy young
women, both 1971 graduates
of Donegal High School,
were among the 78 student
nurses graduated Sunday,
May 19, from the Lancaster
General Hospital School of
Nursing.
They are:
Mrs. Denise M. Goss,
daughter of Mrs. Dorothy
Wagner, 341 Florin avenue
and
Mrs. Vicki Harnish of
Millersville, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerome Kendig,
Florin avenue.

Strickler Family
Holds Reunion
A reunion of the descen-
dants of Amos R. Strickler,
who lived from 1841 to 1928,
was held on Sunday, May 19,
at the Salunga Fire Com-
pany park. Attending were
130 members of the family,
who held a picnic buffet
luncheon and an afternoon
program.
The program included a
vocal duet by Ruth Sly and
Erma Yeakel, sisters; a talk
by Dr. Damon Strickler of
Palmyra, Pa.; presentation
of “The Lord’s Prayer” in
sign language by Mrs. Vicki
Kemp of Lancaster; and an
address by Walter W. Barto,
Jr., of Meadow Brook, Pa.
Token gifts were presented
to all those attending.
Arrangements were made
by the oldest living
generation of the family, all
cousins: Mrs. Mary Sarver,
Mrs. Mary Barto, Mrs.
Martha Hoffer, Mrs. Maud
Gainer, Mrs. Dorothy Heisey
and Mrs. Edna Wolgemuth.

sationals.
The Joycee-ettes will
crown the Princess at this

street, is one of 64 students
who was to receive diplomas
Thursday, May 23. from
Lankenau Hospital School of
Nursing, Philadelphia.
Ceremonies were
scheduled to be held at the
school, followed by a
reception for the graduates
and their guests in the
hospital lobby.
Given Citation
Miss Susan Miller, an
employee of the Friendly Ice
Cream Shop located on
Columbia Avenue in Lan-
caster, has been presented
with a Silver Dollar Service
Citation on behalf of the
corporation.
The Award Program was
instituted by the firm as a
method of giving recognition
to those shop employees who
have exhibited an out-
standing performance in
courtesy and service to
customers.
Miss Miller has been an
employee of Friendly since
November of 1973 and
resides with her family on
North High St.
