May Marie Raffensberger
Mrs. May Marie Raf-
fensberger, 76, of 90 E. Main
St., Mount Joy, died at 10:45
p.m. Thursday after an
illness of several years. She
was the widow of Paul J.
Raffensberger.
A resident of Mount Joy for
the past 14 years, she
previously resided in Lan-
caster. She had worked at
RCA before her retirement
in 1960.
She was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church,
Mount Joy, and Lutheran
Church Women.
Born in Wrightsville, she
was the daughter of the late
Charles E. and Sarah
Shearly Young. ~
She is survived by a son,
Warren H. Raffensberger
Sr., Marietta R1, and a
daughter, LaRue S., wife of
Arthur Reinhart, Mount Joy,
eight grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Services were held from
the Trinity Lutheran church
Monday afternoon, April 15,
and burial was made in
Fairview cemetery at
Wrightsville, with the Heilig
Funeral Home in charge.
RICHARD L. BOYD
Tech. Sgt. Richard L.
Boyd, USAF (Ret.), 41, of
13239 Kings Mountain drive,
Balch Springs, Tex., died
Wednesday April 3, in St.
Pauls Hospital, Dallas Tex.,
after a brief illness.
Born in Florin, he was a
son of Mrs. Evelyn Morgan
Boyd and the late Arthur
Boyd, and the husband of
Evelyn Paul Boyd. He was a
member of the VFW and
American Legion posts in
Mesquite, Tex. He lived in
Mt. Joy until graduation
from Mt. Joy High School in
1951, when he entered the U.
S. Air Force, retiring in 1971.
His last station was McGuire
AFB, New Jersey.
Surviving, in addition to
his widow, and his mother of
Mount Joy; are three sons,
Henry, Richard and
Thomas, all at home; seven
brothers, Glenn Flowers,
Delbert Flowers, Elwood
Flowers, Donald Flowers
and Robert Boyd, all of
Mount Joy; Melvin Flowers,
Elizabethtown; Arthur Boyd
Jr., of Linglestown, and a
sister, Effie, wife of Elmer
Murphy, of Rheems.
Services were held
Monday April 8, with full
military honors and in-
terment in Restland
Memorial Park, Dallas.
_ On Tennis Squad
Corinda B. Zink, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin B.
Zink, 301 E. Main St., is
participating as a member of
the women’s tennis squad at
Elizabethtown college for
the 1973-74 season.
She is a sophomore.
Reports For Duty
Marine First Lieutenant
Thaddeus J. Dalkiewicz, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus J.
Dalkiewicz . of Route 1,
Marietta, has reported for
duty at the Marine Corps Air
Station at New River, N. C.
