Page 6 - Mount Joy Bulletin "THE April 10, 1974 Mayor Reports I would like to commend the citizens of Mount Joy for the interest which they expressed on the recom- mendation to make Apple Tree Alley a one-way street. To date, no decision has been made. It has been turned over to the Public Safety Committee for its con- sideration. The interest shown tells us there are concerned citizens in the Borough, and I hope this will continue. Smart move. Even though the current heating season is nearly over, it’s not too late (or too soon) to plan greater savings of fuel and money in the future. Adding insulation to your home is one of the best things you can do. Now that the weather's getting warmer, it's the perfect time to check the amount of insulation in your home. If there's a thickness of less than 6 inches in the attic and 3% inches in the walls, it'll pay you to add the extra amount needed. Check any spots that seemed particularly cold this winter, too . . . areas containing no insulation at all. Remember, it takes a lot more fuel to heat an uninsulated home. No one has energy to waste or money to burn. The way to reduce fuel costs in the future is to insulate now!
