St. Luke's Set Two Services Easter Morning On Easter Day there will be two services held in St. Luke’s Episcopal church. The Rev. Donald M. Whitesel, rector of the parish, has announced that the first service consisting of the Holy Communion, hymns and a meditation will begin at 8:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., a second service will be held con- sisting of a Festival Choral Eucharist and Sermon. The Senior Choir will sing, “Lift the Trimuph Song’’ by Lovelace, with trumpeter Bruce Wagner. A brief communion service will be held in the chapel at 8:45 a.m. i 3 Deaths ESTHER M. HALLGREN Mrs. Esther M. Wittle Hallgren, 76, of 269 Marietta Ave., died Friday, April 5, at 9:40 p.m. in Lancaster General hospital after an illness of several months. She was the widow of Ragnar F. Hallgren Sr., who died in January of 1957. Mrs. Hallgren was a resident of Mount Joy for the last 50 years and taught school for several years in the York City School District and in Rapho Twp. She was a 1917 graduate of Mount Joy high school and a 1920 graduate of Millersville State College. She was af- filiated with the Lutheran Church Women of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Mount Joy. Mrs. Hallgren was the daughter of the late Oristus A., and Annie Hamilton Wittle, and was born in Ironville, West Hempfield Twp. She is survived by four Mount Joy Bulletin - Page 5 sons: Ragnar Jr., Carl R., both of Mount Joy; Robert, Elizabethtown, and Charles, a chief master sergeant at the Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, one great- grandchild and two brothers and one sister: Charles H. Wittle, Joseph K. Wittle and Ruth N. Wittle, all of Columbia R1. Services were held from the Heilig funeral home Monday morning, April 8. Burial was made in the Mount Joy cemetery. ELIZABETH FLOYD BESHLER Mrs. Elizabeth Floyd Beshler, 92, widow of Henry C. Beshler, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, at her home, 105 W. High St., Maytown. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Maytown, she also belonged to Lutheran Auxiliary to Lutheran Social Services, and Columbia Hospital Auxiliary, Columbia. Born in Conoy Twp. Bainbridge R1, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Mary Lehman Floyd. She is survived by the following children: Elizabeth B., wife of Paul Albright, and Miss Josephine F. Behsler, both of Maytown; Chris H. Beshler, _ Coatesville; Paul R. Beshler and Mrs. Ruth Newcomer, both also of Maytown, and Mrs. Janet B. Barry, Mid- west City, Okla.; eight grand-children; seven great- grand-children; four great- great-grandchildren, and one sister, Katie, wife of Arthur B. Martin, Lan- caster. Services were held Monday afternoon from the St. John’s Lutheran church, Maytown, and burial was = made in the Lutheran church cemetery, Maytown. WILLIAM HESS William W. Hess, 41, of 129 S. Market Ave., died early Thursday morning, April 4, at the Elwyn Institute, Elwyn, after a lengthy illness. Born in Eden Twp., he was a son of Mrs. Irene Witmer Hess and the late John M.
