Grove celebrated his birthday anniversary last Sunday. Mrs. Anna Houseal celebrated her birthday anniversary April 4. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Arnold celebrated their 27th wed- ding anniversary last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sprout celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Sunday by having a ‘Drop In” at their home. This was arranged by some of their friends. Let us remember the Early Dawn Service at the Reformed Church on Easter at 6:30 a.m. Do-nuts and coffee will be served after the service. A Fellowship Supper will be held at the church of God April 20. All members are invited to attend. The Illuminator Class of the above church met at McCalls on Tues. evening. Kern SUNDAY 9:15 A.M. - Sunday Scool. - Communion Victory Groups Calvary Bible Choir To Give Cantata Sunday morning, April 14, the Calvary Bible Church Choir will present the Easter Cantata, ‘‘Hallelujah, for the Cross’’, written by John W. Peterson. In this cantata, Peterson has sought to retell the dramatic story of redemp- tion. Though an instrument of death, the cross signifies a beginning and not an end. Featured soloists will include Mrs. Barry Gockley, Mrs. Larry Laughman, Jim Mayer, and Lewis Hart. John H. Brubaker will narrate with Mrs. Richard Peters and Mrs. John Hart at the piano and organ. Rev. Ronald Gibson, pastor, extends a welcome to all. St. Mark's Lists Special Services The congregation of St. Mark’s United Methodist church will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at a special Service of Tenebrae on Maundy Thursday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a great deal of congregational participation in this worship experience. The Chancel choir will sing Gordon Young's ‘Droop There, O Sacred Head.” On Easter Sunday mor- ning there will be an 8 a.m. Worship Service at which the Holy Communion will be offered at the altar. Miss Marilyn Strominger will sing Gore’s ‘“O Sing unto the Lord.” At the 10:15 o’clock Vic- tory Celebration, the pastor, Rev. W. Richard Kohler, will preach on the theme, ‘‘Cross and Crown’. Special music will include three anthems. The Chancel choir will render ‘‘Rejoice, Rejoice, This Glad Easter Day’ by Leaf. The choir has prepared “Sing We with A Merry Heart’ by Wetzler. A Ladies chorus from the Chancel choir will do “The Whole Bright World Rejoices Now’’ by Williams with Mary Ellen Kohler accompanist. A special soprano descant has been arranged for the hymn “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today.” The hymn-of-the- month, “OO .Sons and Daughters, Let Us Sing,” will be sung by choir and congregation. During the service the special Easter offerings will be brought to the cross along with written statements of the meaning of this Lenten Season in the life of the members of the congregation. The community is invited to join in all of these worship experiences. Easter Services At Bossler Church Special Easter services will be held at Bossler’s Mennonite church on Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. and - Sunday, April 14, at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Speaker will be Ram- sumair K. Harry from the Eastern Mennonite Seminary, Harrisonburg, Va. Theme will be “The Christian Household.” A church chorus will present, ‘My Father's Business’’, in scripture and in song on Saturday evening, April 13, at 7:30 o’clock, Narrator will be Richard Frank and director, Faye Yoder.
