Page 2 - Mount Joy Bulletin Seeking Young Men and Women For Rotary Grants Dr. David E. Schlosser, president of the Mount Joy Rotary club, has announced that the club is seeking young men and women in the Donegal area as candidates for Rotary Foundation educational awards for study abroad in 1975-76. The Foundation offers four types of educational awards: Graduate Fellowships, for those who have recieved a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and are between the ages of 20 and 28; Undergraduate Scholarships, for those with a minimum of two years of university level work and are the ages of 18 to 20, Technical Training Awards for those with a secondary education and at least two years’ working experience and are the ages of 21 to 35; Awards to Teachers of the Handicapped, for those who have been engaged as fulltime teachers of the mentally, physically or educationally handicapped for at least two years at the time of application and are the ages of 25 to 50. In 1947, the Foundation started its programs of sending young adults abroad for study, and since that time, the Foundation has awarded more than US $17.5 million for its various programs, and more than 6,000 young men and women have gone to coun- tries other than their own for a year of study. As a non-profit organization, The Rotary Foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and friends of Rotary in 150 different countries. “Recent Rotary Foundation awards to students of this area have gone to Richard Heisey and Mitchell Albert. Jill Shupp To Play With Mid-West Team Jill Shupp, a freshman at Millersville State College, this past week end was named to the Mid-East II hockey team, and will be playing in the National Field Hockey Tournament during the Thanksgiving week end, in Boston, Mass. Jill, the daughter of Mrs. Nancy Shupp, Harvestview apartments, was named to play in the national tournament following the district meet at Gettysburg. She is a 1973 graduate of Donegal high school. Barbara St., is participating as a member of the 83-member Concert Band and the Woodwind Ensemble this year at Elizabethtown College. The Concert Band, an integral part of the College's music program, presents concerts on and off the campus during the year.
