WINDOWS CAN LEAK
COLD AIR
If your windows are leak-
ing cold air, up to 30 percent
of your family’s heating bill
is being caused by warm air
leakage or cold air infiltration.
To seal out the howling wind,
Extension specialists at Penn
State, suggests you get storm
windows or double-pane insul-
ating glass. Or use weather
stripping at movable joints
and caulk the frames of all
windows and doors.
CHAIRS FOR
THE ELDERLY
If you're getting a chair for
an elderiy person, Extension
speciaiist at Penn State re-
mind you to make sure it will
give good body support for
lower back and neck for long
periods of time. Chairs should
fit the person and not cut off
circulation when both feet are
flat on the floor. The chair
arms should extend far en-
ough forward to allow lever-
age when a person is sitting
down or getting up.
Birds don’t fall off a perch
even when they're asleep.
Each toe is connected with a
cord inside the leg; when the
leg is bent, the cords stretch
tight and pull the toes around
the branch.

For a convenient and healthful luncheon prepare Bangkok
Salad. You put it together yourself.
Perk up warm weather luncheon appetites with kind-to-the-
waistline Bangkok Salad. Convenient canned grapefruit sec-
tions in its own juice, mandarin oranges, chow mein vegetables,
diced cooked chicken and green pepper strips are served
chilled in individual plates. Each person then puts his own
salad together for a salad by choice.
Remember, don’t let the juice go down the drain! If vou
need just the grapefruit or mandarin orange sections, save
the juice for healthful drinking. Or, use ihe juice as part of
the liquid in molded salads, salad dressings, pot roasts and
stews for a different flavorful goccnerss.
