TRADITION
Before we reject any tradi-
tion, we should examine the
reason it became a tradition
in the first place. At Christ-
mas time we become involved
in trimming the Christmas
tree, giving gifts, mailing
cards, or preparing for fes-
tive celebrations, We may
sometimes become pushed to
the point where we feel like
saying, “I give up! It's too
much! It isn’t worth it!” Let’s
take a good look at the mean-
ings behind these traditions:
When we consider love, peace,
good will, and the sheer joy
of doing things for others and
being with those we love we
may say, “Yes, it's work, but
it’s worth it!”

ACCEPTANCE
How wonderful it would be
if we could accept ourself and
others as we accept nature!
We don’t expect a palm tree
to look like an elm, or a sun-
flower to look like a rose. To
be fully accepted by every-
one may be an unattainable
goal, But it is a wonderful
feeling to find someone with
whom we can honestly discuss
our inmost feelings, knowing
we are still accepted. To find
this kind of acceptance, how-
ever, we must learn to be wil-
ling to give it in return. I can
be me only if I'm willing to
let you be you!

OPEN
None of us wants to live his
life in a private room, closing
out the rest of the world, It
is the openhearted, openmind-
ed person who sees life as a
real adventure. The person
who is open to new experien-
ces and sees them as a part
of the growing process does
not face life with fear, but
rather with anticipation. When
we are open to life, we see
the potentiality for good in
others and in ourself,
and
love to watch it unfold. Noth-
ing is gained by traveling
through life in a covered wag-
on.
MASSAGE PARLORS
A recent study disclosed 90
percent of massage parlors in
California engaged in illicit
activities.
Lead arsenate sprays and
dusts hve been used in orch-
rds and fields in the United
States for more than 75 years.
