Companies and their members in our communities. There's a lot of talk today about
“Detached Americans” — people who don't get “involved” when other people need
help. But such isn't the case when it comes to volunteer firemen. Volunteer firemen
are neighbors helping neighbors in time of need. There's no more important way to get
“involved” in community activities.
Manheim’s Farm Show
Arrangements are being
completed this week for Man-
heim’s annual Farm Show, to
be held Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday, Oct. 11, 12 and
13.
Many interesting exhibits
and events are scheduled in
connection with the Farm
Show. Exhibits will be receiv-
ed on Tuesday, Oct. 10, begin-
ning at 7 p.m. and again on
Wednesday morning, Oct. 11,
from 8 to 10 a. m. Judging
will start at 1 p.m. on Wed-
nesday and continue through-

To avoid ‘hot spots” inside
your oven, place baking pans
in the center of the oven.
This will permit free circula-
tion of air and heat on all
sides and top and bottom. Ex-
tension foods and nutrition
specialists at Penn State say
when putting two or more
pans in the oven at the same
t me, stagger them on differ-
ent shelves, so that one is not
directly above the other,
There should be at least one
inch between two pans on the
same shelf.
