Florin Fire company has been involved for approx- imately a year. Chief Good explained that 26 members of Friendship company have provided their own Plectron units at their own expense. Each unit, he said, is priced at from $150 to $180. Plectron units are portable and can be taken with the firemen at home, work, in autos, etc. One distinct advantage, Good said, is that in times of power failures, Plectron, be- cause it is not dependent upon ordinary nower sources, is al- ways ready and available. Old Movies movies of Friendship company activities of nearly 40 years ago were shown firemen last week as they held their April meeting on Thursday night, April 6 in the fire hall. Joseph Shaeffer showed films taken in 1937 at a Fire company picnic and some 1938 movies taken at Malvern when 86 members of the com- pany paraded in uniform. Chief Frank Good reported six fire calls in March. Three new members were accepted. Thirty-one members attended. President Ronald Alleman was in charge. A Dutch lunch was served.
