It is really amazing that so much garbage has been dumped on rural roads. This next weekend, if the weather is as beautiful as the past, there will be many families out for pleasure drives. When you go, please take along a large plastic bag, pull off the road, walk several hundred yards, and come back on the other side of the road to your car. On even a short walk like this you will be able to pickup 10 or 20 cans or bottles; the walk will be good for you too. James R. Nissley P. O. Box 164 Maytown Donegal School Menus HIGH SCHOOL & JR. Mr. Lefever is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Mylin Le- fever, Andover, N. Y. To Annex 199 A. Pass Ordinances Ordinances annexing 199 acres of land in two town- ships adjacent to Mount Joy were passed on first reading Monday night, Mar. 9, at a special meeting of the Bor- ough Council, held in the borough building. The three tracts of land were proposed a week ear- lier and petitions by the owners were placed in the hands of the Borough Plan- ning and Zoning commission. This week, all were re- ported favorably by the com- mission and were given ap- propriate zoning classifica- tions. An area of 98.203 acres in East Donegal township, own- ed by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Greider, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Greider, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stoltzfus and Mr. and Mrs. James Newcomer was classi- fied Residence A and B and Business. All land in the tract east of the Union school road was made Residence B. All land on the west side except the portion occupied by the Red Rose Dairy Bar and the Grei- der home was made Resi- dence A. The remainder was made business. All were added to the Florin Ward of the borough. At the east edge of the borough, annexed from Ra- pho township, was a 62.324 acre tract owned by Arthur and Clarence Hostetter and a 39-acre tract owned by Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy Breneman and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Ebersole. The Hostetter property will be zoned Residence A and Breneman’s as commercial and industrial. Both will be- come part of the East Ward of the borough. The Hostetter property is located on the north side of Route 230 and all the Brene- man and Ebersole tract is on the scuth side. Originally, Brenneman had asked in his petition that a single house on the north side, 1 ocated immediately west of the Chiques United Methodist church, be includ- ed. However, at a special zoning meeting he!d Thurs- day night of last week, there were objections raised to that move, The single lot would have created an ‘‘island” of Rapho township within the borough limits of Mount Joy. That situation was not viewed fa- vorably. The Breneman tract stret- ches from the east edge of the NCR property eastward’ to the Eby Chiques road. Official notices of the an- nexation proceedings appear in this issue of the Bulletin. The annexation becomes ef- fective within 30° days. However, the township in- vo'ved—(supervisors of both have been officially notified In The 1970s 1.—A borough manager. from nie to six. system.
