There were 39 entrants in the three divis- ions, Senior high Junior high and Elementary, representing 17 county schools. Winners were as follows: Senior high division, First, Barry Culp, Manheim Twp.; 2nd, Bruce Garrett, McCask- ey, and 3rd, Mike Laser, of Manheim Twp, Junior High Division, 1st, Bill Longeneck- er, Hempfield, and 2nd, Rick Paules, Hempfield Element- ary Djvision, Bill Levinson, Nitrauer Elementary, Man- heim Twp. Winners were awarded trophies commemorating the tournament. * * *% Mr. and Mrs. Isaac B. Ear- hart, Columbia R1, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Eloise Ear- hart, to Stanley Ray Zeamer, son of Mrs. William Zeamer, Elizabethtown, and the late Mr. Zeamer. . The bride-elect js a gradu- ate of Hempfield Union high school and her fiance is a graduate of Manheim Central high school. Both are attend- ing Northwest Missouri State college, Maryville, Mo. + * * Doug Englert 14, and Bon- ni: Zeamer 13, were crowned King and Queen of Hearts, at the recent Friday evening Valentine Dance held at the Centerville Junior high school gymnasium. David Weinberg, Co- lumbia physician, spoke to parents on ‘“‘Sex Education for Children” at the meeting of the Farmdale Parent Teacher Club recently in the all purpose room of the school. Dr. Weinberg is a member of the Columbia hos- pital Board of Directors and on the hospital staff. Girl Scouts of Cadet Troop 942 provided {free baby sit- ting during the meeting. Cheryl Ann Saunders, an eighth grade student at Cen- terville Junjor high school, Hempfield union school dis- trict, has been named win- ner of the annual current af- fairs contest conducted by a national magazine, Miss Sauders, the daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman R. Saunders, 585 Church St., Landisville, was selected from more than 2,500,000 students across the United States and Canada who par- ticipated in the event. Other Centerville eighth graders who scored high in the current affairs test were Timothy McReel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McKeel, of 749 Barrcrest Lane, Lancast- er; and Roland Martinez, son of Dr. and Mrs. Raphael Mar- tinez, 2818 Marietta Pike, Lancaster. Mr. Gunson served the Maytown United Church of Christ, Maytown for two years while attending the Seminary at Lancaster. His many friends will be glad to hear Mr. Endslow reports the Gunson family are all well and enjoying their pastorate in Sidney.
