Market St., Elizabethtown died Friday, July 27, at 11:45 p.m. at St. Joseph's hospital after an illness of one year. A native of Mountville, he was the son of Mrs. Esther Dyer Waltz and the late Ab- ram’ Waltz, Mount Joy. He was a member of the Chiques United Methodist church, Mount Joy. Waltz was a veteran of World War II and was em- ployed by Raybestos-Manhat- tan In¢., Manheim. Surviving besides his wife, Margaret E. Murphy Waltz, at home, and mother, are: seven children, Peggy L., wife of Russell Bradnick, and Patricia, wife of Paul Fishel, both of Elizabethtown Lester J., Jr., Phyllis A. Priscilla R., Georgiann, and Karen Y., all at home; two step-children, Jean A., wife of Bart Cocker, Elizabeth- town R1, and June M., wife of T. Sgt. Edward Evers, In- diantown Gap; and eleven grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers: William D., Clayton ton D., Charles D., Samuel D., Leroy D., and Benjamin D., all of Mount Joy; and a sister, Esther D., wife of Richard Farmer, Mount Joy. Funeral services were held from the Miller funeral home in Elizabethtown, Tuesday, July 30, and burial was made in the Mount Tunnel ceme- tery. Tuesday evening 19 girls hiked to Donegal high school from the payground. They were accompanied by Mrs. Sarbaugh, their playground supervisor. Florin met with the other three playground- which made approximately 55 girls. They were treated to hot dogs and watermelon, before “bedding down” on the football field. In the mor- ning they were given scram- bled eggs, bread, apple but- ter and milk. ' Winners of the “Hawaiian Day’ costumes were: Most realistic, Bonnie Hean, most decorated, Cindy Waltz, most colorful, Cindy Metheny, most unusual, Barbie Peifer. Fifteen children entered the show.
